Dot your Is and cross your Ts. Not only check your spelling, but also check your grammar, syntax, and punctuation. Anything that will show the publisher that you are serious about presenting a professional product to their publication. Consider how you would react to unprofessional, poorly...

    My first switchstand

Thank you, Andrew. CVR doesn't have pictures, but it looks like the place to find a lot of fun things!

    My first switchstand

Val, Who manufactures the working switchstands? Is it Alder? Utah Pacific? CVR? (What is CVR?) Once my PH&MPRy becomes solvent, the track crew will need about a dozen of them. Would be nice to have o-scale but will settle for ho-scale if that is all they make. They look great. TTFN, James

    A Fun Game

FYI: 'Print Scrn' assumes the entire screen is to be captured. If more than one window is open, and just the currently active window needs to be captured, use 'Alt+Print Scrn' and only the active window will be sent to the clipboard.

    Trouble's

Just a guess, but it looks like Shamus has too much free time! :)

    Is it an Optical Illusion

Ron, Beautiful winter scene! :thumb: One of the hardest scenes to photograph is a scene with snow as the predominant subject. Throws the camera's meter off. Tries to make snow look like middle gray. That's why photography is more an art than a science. If it were simple, Ansel Adams wouldn't...

    The Stumps of Shamus Forest

Smuk! to the max! :thumb: Great looking trees! Thanks for posting this! I've been working on some tress ala Shamus, and have been wracking my brain as to how to make the transition from tree to ground and make it look realistic. Will have to try this soon!

    Railyard Rookie--help wanted

Uh oh! Shame on you, Bill! "The best" loco made, albeit in your humble opinion, is the locomotive that suits the modeler! And, as you very well know, not all modelers like a 2-8-2. Now, I hope everyone, especially you, Bill, will understand that I am merely teasing. I have enjoyed your...

    Just found out

When I was too young to really appreciate what I was looking at, my older brother showed me some of his magazines featuring articles of John Allen's layouts. Now I get to really appreciate it all over again in Shamus's magazine articles and examples of his work here. Second time around is just...

    my first craftman kit

Jesper, That is an excellent structure! I love the paint job and weathering! Mange smuk! :thumb: Craftsman kits have come a long way since I did a couple back in the 70s. AMB (American Model Builders) has a small branchline depot that I'm working on. My Lady says it's really cute. I...

    carrion - eye candy?

Great looking condor!:thumb: And the rock formation is exceptional! Have you posted how you make the rocks? I'm in the design phase of a small bookshelf layout and your rocks are incredibly realistic. Would be nice to have small versions of your rocks on my layout, if it ever gets built...

Speaking of antiques - from junk to gem - ebay

I agree...and having said that, I must now state that I have learned (and evidently not all that well), that sometimes the best thing for me to do is...remain silent and look for the beauty in the moment!:) Sorry! I can't help myself...As far as reality goes, IF ONLY...!

    House behind the Lighthouse

Great picture! I think the little bit of camera vibration adds a perfect mood to this scene!

Speaking of antiques - from junk to gem - ebay

Human nature The thing about humanity that disappoints me every time is "human nature". The thing about people that touches my heart every time is "human nature." Take away our humanity and we are just human beings. Take away our human nature and we are just another species. I think it is...

    Trouble at Cabin Branch

An after thought! (I have a lot of after thoughts! I've given up hoping I would learn to think things through before I jump, but it ain't happened yet, and I'm running out of time!) If the normal ratio is 1:2 (1 part water, 2 parts hydrocal), and the purpose of the paint is to add color...
