Thanks for the reply Fred, not too worried about the swapped trucks as I've seen Alco trucks on EMD units etc. What I am after is in modeling a CN SD40-2W in S scale, can the shell fit on a SD60 frame and look correct. If the truck wheelbase is the same on both units I can use the SD60 frame...

Questions: Do the SD40-2 and SD60 have the same length truck wheelbase spacing? and also are the GP38-2 and GP35 the same length truck wheelbase? thank you

Hi Russ, I've had some success with Easy Off oven cleaner also. Spray it on and let it soak in a Baggie until you can scrape off the factory paint. Wear gloves and a mask when spraying the stuff on. I know what you mean as far as mechanic's hands. I tinker on my '86 Monte Carlo SS too and...
