Adding Scenery to N Trak Module

I should mention that the waterfall has a lighted rotating drum behind it to simulate moving water. Waiting for the Woodland Scenics "Water Effects" to cure to see what I have to add or change. Hope you enjoyed the pictures and I will keep posting when I complete more.

Adding Scenery to N Trak Module

The log bridge above the falls I copied from one of Shamus's pictures, it has two tracks and the last bridge a King post carries the Mountain Division rail across the river.

Adding Scenery to N Trak Module

Bridges, bridges, bridges - all five of them. The first will be a ballasted deck bridge for the Red/Yellow lines. Thinking of leaving it nice, no rust - either just painted of newly installed. The second bridge is a Warren Truss for the Blue line, will add some more rust before installing it...

Adding Scenery to N Trak Module

Shame most of the river will be hidden with the bridges. First picture is a boat landing that will be under one of the bridges

Adding Scenery to N Trak Module

Been plugging away slowly at the scenery on my NTrak modules. The left module being the hardest as I have a river running across it. The river was the pacing item. I had to have that completed before adding the many bridges and track work. Think I have the river part well underway, just...

    Bachmann Service

I am realy impressed with the service I received from Bachmann Service. My N scale Spectrum 2-6-6-2 Challenger released all it's factory installed smoke (burned out) when something went wrong with the Clubs electrical system at a recent show. I took it apart and found the motor was seized...

Thanks Josh. David the rocks are castings I made from molds I made. I posted a thread on it some time back. Think it's under "Can I borrow that rock"

    Module update

On the Tortoise switch machines I went to a heavier wire but it still flexes and actuation is not 100%. I am about 1/2 to 5/8" away from the underside of the switch. I was told that I can eliminate the slight flex by adding a tube over the wire. Will have to check my LHS.

    Module update

Having trouble getting the Peco switches to actuate with Tortoise switch machines. Since my modules are made of layers of 2" thick styrofoam I have to pocket the underside to mount the switches.

    Module update

I have to pour the enviortex water before I can anchor the five bridges. The two upper bridges are scratch built.

    Module update

Started scenicing the left module with a little ground cover. I have a long way to go but this is the part I enjoy the most.

    Module update

Great day, so I set my two modules up in the yard. Used my airbrush and painting in natural light was great.

First up is the consist crossing over my arch bridge module - followed by a SP cab forward coal drag passing it

    Double heading

Took me a while to come up with a solution to double head my N scale Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0s. That dinky little non functioning coupler on the engine is only there for looks and the only way possible to couple two engines was with a draw bar connection I configured. Worked great, made a...

How to solder wires to track (3 hands?)

As ezdays said it will take some practice. I find that solid core wire rather than stranded works best. The solid core wire can be bent, "L" shaped to fit in along the outside of your rail. Offset the "L" slightly and it will lay in position, or you can hold it in place with a small wooden...

    Wasted detail

I did enjoy detailing the inside of this logging camp mess hall for my NTRak module. I put in two large skylight windows hoping most of the detail would be visible and I also have a warm white LED inside that I can wire up.
