EMD GP Build Date Info needed

I can't say exactly when each model was debuted, but I have some small notes which may give you some idea of when they were shipped from the Canadian division of EMD - a GP-7 unit was delivered to TH&B in 1950 a GP-9 " TH&B in 1954 a GP-30 "...

    egyptian railways (ENR)

I'm sorry, gentlemen (faroukstan and mr_bnsf), but since the company (EMD) has been sold to a different owner, and many of my older contacts have been 'retired', I am no longer in a position to give you any leads for the information that you require.

    egyptian railways (ENR)

I believe many of those EMD units were made at EMD's former division (General Motors of Canada, Diesel Division) in London, Canada. I worked there for 30 years until my retirement 5 years ago. I recognize some of the export model numbers.

    Favorite N Scale Manufacturer

I have an 060 steamer and an SW9/1200 switcher, both Life-Like N-gauge. I'm very pleased with the way the run, after I corrected some track and turnout mis-alignments in my small 12" x 60" yard.

Seen any good structures to Model anywhere

A barn similar to the one in the link, but with a more shallow roof, I think, has been rescued from a farm near West Lorne, Ontario and is being re-erected by a landscaping compeny in or near the village of Muirkirk, also in Ontario. <a...

I don't see the 'Quick Links' icon either. I'm finding that my browsers are too old to take full use of most sites that I visit now. The only reason I can make this post is because I switched from an old Netscape browser to IE. I guess I need a new system. Dang! There goes the...

For jimmybeersa & other steam tractor fans

Quality pictures, Ron. I attend two or three steam shows a year, and I have yet to see one over here with a cover on the flywheel as on this roller. It really is amazing to see the large agricultural tractors in motion.

    What's your era

I want both steam and diesel, so I will loosley model mid 40's to mid 50's on my little freelanced layout. It won't be any particular railroad or area, but I am trying to invent a road name with a local or personal twist.

    Coal Shed

Andrew, your questions prompted me to hop in the car and do a drive-by as I have not been in that part of town for some years now. The building is no longer standing. The space is a rough parking lot now, overgrown with weeds and shrubbery.. It was located on the east side of the Empire...

    Coal Shed

very nice work, Andrew. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ I remember a real coal dealer here in town, about 20 years or so ago, and he had his shed build to match the curve of the track at the back of his 6 bay shed. It was to facilitate unloading, I guess. I took a bunch of pictures and measurements of...
