I've been a bit out of touch for a while, travel has been the major cause of that, my wife has been the majority of the other.
Not that she's against my hobby, quite the contrary. She supports me (ok, tolerates me) spending time on this. In return, I have provided her with several card projects that she had needed/requested for various events she has worked with. I designed and build a wedding well for our daughter's wedding, a hot air balloon for a fund-raiser when she worked with United Way. There have been quite a few others.
She has allergies to the major laundry detergents and she has spent years trying to find something she can use. Looking on the internet, she found a recipe that uses common items found in stores to grind up and make here own. By doing this, she no longer itches from the laundry detergent and it cost us maybe 4 cents (yes, 4 cents) a load by doing this herself.
She is now unemployed and is looking for work. In the meantime, she has a marketing project she is trying to start. She is making the laundry detergent powder and wants to sell it. She had me design a box to hold enough powder to make either 1 or 2 gallons of liquid detergent. My daughter came up with the idea to make the box look like a washing machine.
Here is my design, I wanted to make it as easy to cut out and assemble (only 1 glue joint) for her as I could. The box opens similar to a top loading washing machine and the smaller one (1 gallon yield) is almost 2 inches cubed, the larger 2 gallon yield is about 2-1/2 inches cubed. What do you think?
