HI there.
totally missed the introductions. It's just me, here in a snowy region of NYS. And recently been finding various distractions for myself: 3d printing (assembling a printer), rooting my phone, and now this too. I"ve seen papercraft before, and it's amazing what you can do with just paper. I'd like to give it a shot. I've always enjoyed playing with legos, constructs, robotix, k'nex, and such. So time to dust off the cutting board, xacto, and get some decent clue (elmer's takes to long to dry).

Take care

Welcome aboard. I am sure that you will be pleased with what the forum has to offer. the downloads section has a waiting period to download the goodies but in the meantime check this site out. http://www.ss42.com/ On the top left is a section for paper toys, click on that and it wil lbring you to a buffet of many styles of the hobby. Almost all of the are readily available. Enjoy and do post photos of your builds. By the way, we do have a section for other modeling styles as well inthe forum, like plastic, wood and mixed media. Enjoy and see you around the forum

Hello and welcome to Zealot.

It looks like you have a plethora of different interests (as many of us here do). Is there a certain genre that you are interested in finding models from (that way we can direct you to the different websites that will have exactly what you are looking for).

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, need help or advice, please feel free to ask and we will do what we can to help you (or at least point you in the right direction).

Once again, welcome aboard. I hope that you enjoy yourself here and I am looking forward to seeing your work.

I go to think about my introduction a bit more on my way into work today, and realized it was a bit rushed. Treebeard would definitely call me "hasty folk." I've always had a wide range of interests. Recenlty I'm getting into the 3D printing thing, which can crossover with the papercraft. And then there's rooting my phone and taking advantage of that. It's old by today's standards and needed new life brought into it. But now I learn that, oh, there are ways to really make it look and do what you want, and then I go about figuring that out. And what I should be doing, is writing my paper for my masters, so I can be done with it.

Oh, current plan is to get a 3d scanner going, via David-3D Scanner, to scan something to later print, but also try and use Pepakura to make a paper craft with it. I was thinking of a Sonic figure i have. we'll see.

Ok, Papercraft, lets get to business. Genres would mainly be Sci-fi/fantasy, maybe historic, tech, and educational. I realized that most of my experience would be with educational paper models. I have a couple of the Geoblox books, and did make the models for the types of Plate Boundaries, and also a volcano, but those are simple compared to what i've seen recently.

Guess that's it in a nut shell.
