Hello all! My name is Mike and I've been lurking for a while now. I have built several paper-craft models before, the last one being of the Serenity from Firefly. I lost all of my belongings in a divorce that took place while I was laid up on my back in a hospital for a month. When I got out I had nothing. I have slowly been rebuilding my tool collection and have been big into making silver and stone jewelry. Recently I became inspired to build with paper again when a friend posted a link on Facebook to The greatly revered Uhu02's LEM. What an amazing piece of art! I am currently in the process of trying to decipher the log in for the library I have read all 20 pages of the appreciation thread and the 4 pages of the other thread and I'm stumped. I really want to build the proteus as a start back into this fun hobby. I can't post anything else about the password here but I am super frustrated. I totally agree that it has to be protected. I just hope my brain can figure it out lol. Anyway I have seen some fantastic work on this site and can't wait to get to know you fine folks better.

Hello Mike,

Welcome to Zealot. I am glad you decided to step out of the shadows and join in on the fun.

I fully understand what it is like to lose everything in a divorce. I went through that as well (and lost EVERYTHING). Just remember, the only thing that can not be taken away, is your pride and self esteem (unless you allow them to).

If you have any photos of your past works, by all means, please post them. You can also post photos of your current build as well.
Build threads are a GREAT way to show off your skills and talents. Not only that, but if you are having problems, you can highlight the trouble areas and ask for help. There is someone here that is willing (and able) to help you out with ANY model.

As for UHUo2, the answers you seek are in the thread. Just continue to read it. It is there. If I can figure it out, I am certain that you can as well.

If you have any questions, comments, concerns, need help or advice. Please feel free to ask and we will do what we can to help you (or at least point you in the right direction).

Once again, welcome aboard. I hope that you enjoy yourself here.

I am looking forward to seeing your work!!!

I figured it out :) Happy Dance. Now I just have to get prints made. I am now trying to decide if I do the Aries 1B, the Discovery, or the Proteus. Any suggestions? I'm sooo excited!

All three are GREAT models. I would say, just close your eyes and choose one that way and just jump in and start building.
Either way you go, I hope that you will post a build thread of it.
