This time, I'm working on Shunichi's Gunwalker model. This has to be the most detail model I have done yet.
But, it looks like a fun build, and I'm excited to see it finished.

It looks like you are off to a good start!
I should give this one a go as well.
Depending upon the size of the cockpit interior, I would suggest getting one of Tirick's figurines and put it into the cockpit. ;)

I made all of the Lense Head Robots and those were fun builds!!!

Great start. I built this a while back on on another paper modeling site a long time ago. There is so much that you can do with this little fella, Make more parts to raise the surface, cut panels and recess themm in and so much ore. i enjoyed building this one and it was also one of my early builds. Here are a couple of photos of what can be done. Thanks for sharing and waiting to see more of your models.083.jpg

@silveroxide Building a diorama isn't what I intended to do, but, after looking at your pictures, I think it looks like a lot of fun. I find that customizing has always been a perk of the craft.

@Rhaven Blaack I'm looking into the mini figures, too. I'm considering making some of my own. But, that will have to wait. Between builds and learning new programs and work...time is scarce.

Neon, if you cut off the "Tabs", and make your own separate "L" shaped tabs, you will be able to line up the edges, and no white edges will be show. It would be good, if at the beginning of your paper model experience, you started doing this. It also has the added advantage that it forms an internal structure of sorts, reenforcing the edges of the model. Like I wrote earlier, no white edges will show, because you can line up the "L" piece you made to compensate for the thickness of the parts joining. :)

Yeah, the white line is something that always bothered me. I'll try the tab-less method on my next build. The Gunwalker is taking longer than I want it to, but, I also don't want to rush it. I really like how it's turning out.

I was thinking of taking a break from machinery and do a figure...But the Thunder Fighter looks like a good challenge. I ordered some paper and it should be here tomorrow, so, I'll start building on maybe Sunday. I noticed you have something to do with this design?
I'll do a quick and easy build until then...Maybe finally get the Zealot cube I've been seeing all over the net.

You might want to print out another engine tail cone, flip it inside out, cut to length and put it inside the one on the model now. It would really finished it off. Came out great!! :)

That's the only thing about the model that bothered me. Funny, too, because it's so easily remedied. One of those "why didn't I think of it" things. :dead:

You did a great job on it, some day, when you get bored, you could greeble it to your heart's desire, or not. :)

In the future, I want to make a pink one for my daughters. Maybe use several duplicate prints to layer it, kind of like the Thunder Fighter does (Which is what I'm working on now).
I look forward to the time when I can afford to get bored and greeble anything. At the moment, work nights are long and the days are short. Which leaves little time for the craft. I did manage this...

I like how you finished off the exhaust.
It looks much better that way.

Just to let you know. The original Thunder Fighter kit does not come with all of the layering and detail greebles that you see on my builds. I did all of that myself, by isolating each of the different parts from the parts sheets and then added the and I thought it would be if it were a real plane.

This has become a habit of mine. I will build a model the way it comes in the kit the first time.
Then I will go through it and figure out where and how I want to greeble it out and set up a map for such in my head and then rebuild the model again, and add all of the detail and greebles that I have thought of. I have to admit that there are times where after I have finished a model, I see where I could have added even more detail or made something more realistic, and then I will go through and rebuild the model again and add the new detailed component.

Yes, I know that I am (slightly) insane! :skull
