I'm interested in making replicas of things that appeal to me.. from sci fi movies i like mainly.. the big one im looking for right now is making the samaritan from hellboy! What im thinking is that i can make a papercraft for measurements and a base, then go over with another material to create textures.

Welcme aboard! I am sure you will get the help you need. Paper model designing is a blast. It also carries over into many other things. Learning how to model with constraints is a good discipline.
