Where do you create? What is your space like?

Just wanted to show the reason I have been lax on model building for some time now. Along with some medical issues, the main reason was the adoption of what started as 2 kittens then ended up to be 3 , all a few days old, and all that goes along with that! So had to move from my nice niche in the living room to an abandoned bedroom long forgotten! One of those rooms that everything you don't want in the rest of the house, but can not stand to get rid of gets gets dumped into! ( almost forgot...allow 20 years to go by...Would show picture of the before, but just imagine a episode of Hoarders and you will get the idea). ...So to move into the new area, it needed a LOT of work...nasty brown shag carpet from the 70's removed...paint...new tile, etc.
Now you have to imagine only being able to work on about a 1/4 of the room at a time, as everything had to be shifted from one side to the other ,first the carpet removed, the floor cleaned, new tile installed, then move the next 1/4 over the just finished one and repeat...for every thing! But I have finally got where I can see the light at the end .... going to take some time to get used to the new area, and get things situated for the best results, but the basics are all there now! So here is my new-ish work room ( all that was purchased was the tile and paint, recycled and salvaged everything else!

Yes, those are 60's concert posters! Went around after the concert night and collected the old ones, and put up new ones ....and oh how I wish I wold have known, I would have kept all the ones I traded for stuff!

Not bragging ...just REAL happy I have a space to work now that is safe from kittens!

Now...if you are so inclined, I know there are better spaces out there, and it would be nice to see how others have used there space for their modeling area!

Wow, that's an inspirational work area. Recent changes means I can change my 17' x 8 foot enclosed porch for just about whatever i want. I'll probably set my Silhouette Cameo in there. I find that machine a pain in the ass to use because you have to do control points around the part you just made. I need to use it more, as I know there are short cuts. I got the machine, and after two weeks, I called Cameo, and told them it was junk, they went through a few procedures and told me the machine was broken, it was no finding the location marks properly (Duh!), so they sent me a new one. That was 3 years ago. I was disgusted, I haven't touched it since.

On that note, they were the nicest bunch of people to deal with, and if in my pigheadedness had not shown themselves, I could have called them the first day, and found out it was N.F.G.. In reality, my Bad. The company was beyond kind supportive, and they never implied that I may have broken anything. I would , without hesitation, purchase from them again.

I like this thread, it's a great one! I can make my room probably 80% Cat Proof, and dog proof (2 Cats), I find if I put the equipment high, and leave the plastic covers on them, that keeps out the Cat hair, and will save on taking apart my printers and cleaning them. My Epson Workforce1100, which is a beast of a printer, loves to suck up car hair, but it's easy to disassemble and clean. :)

@Gandolf50, I apologize for forgetting to put the "Moderator" moniker under your name, it's there now though. I am also very happy your on the team. ;)

Found out something as I started working in the new space. After so long with-out working on my current project, I have no idea what I was going to do next...and for some reason the hands don't work any more!! Looks like it's going to take some time to get back into the swing of things..or perhaps it's just Performance Anxiety following all the GREAT work by our members!!

You have a great looking Work space, Gandolf! I'm sure your hands will get better, and you'll be back to work on your 'next' project real soon!

Good to hear, Gandolf! We are kindred spirits in that regard; if we keep encouraging each other, we'll make it OK!

I will make it a point to never make a model that you have done. That bar is way too high for me! :)
