Realistic 4-4-0 American Jupiter style loco?

Is that the same type of loco used in Back to the Future III? If so I want one!

that was my less "fun" option too. :thumb:

    A little riddle...

My first thought was some kind of turbo or something, but i think it maybe something less "fun".

    Shinkansen

I'd say Ebay too, there is a guy in the UK that sells them, he has the 3 car set for £45, and can order more cars for it. I also noticed he has a huge Super Railcargo set for £115, soo tempting!

    Kato EF210 DCC?

I have a Kato EF210, and was thinking of converting it to DCC. I have worked out how to open it up, and it looks like it should be quite easy, but I was wondering if anyone else has done one. I had a search on google but nearly all the results are Japanese :p I would like to add red lights too...

    Realistic consist for a Deltic?

@ross31r: I had those four already, I wanted to check if I should buy more of those or not, and now I know the Maroon would be better :) Thanks for the advice, I'll get onto this... :)

    Realistic consist for a Deltic?

It's this paint scheme. I searched for some info, but only found out what the prototype prototype ( :p ) was tested with. I'm thinking the end of the life of the Deltics, late 70's to 82. Thanks :)

    Realistic consist for a Deltic?

I have won an N Gauge Deltic on ebay, but I'm not too sure what these would have pulled. I have 4 blue and white BR coaches which I think are suitable. Can anyone advise me on typical loads, did these do frieght runs?

    Magnetic Levitation

Heh, that last post just reminded me, anyone seen The Island? That has a maglev style high speed train on it, although it doesnt have a track as such, just a series of some kind of emitter on the ground.

    Magnetic Levitation

Ah, maglev. Years ago I tried to work out a model one, no luck. :p Don't the Japanese and French already use it partially in their high speed trains? i did I dream that...

    Double fun for July/Aug.

What happened there? Looks like someone used a giant vacuum to suck out the contents and left it on too long :p

    Remote controlled uncoupling

Maybe one of us can make something? For N gauge, I was thinking of a very simple system using muscle wire, using a small length of it running along from where the connector is mounted to the top if the "hook". Here's a pic: The wire would be looped, so a small hook n the back of the connector...

    Remote controlled uncoupling

I've been wondering about this too, actually for n scale. A mechanical system that moves the coupling away would be more realistic, but would require enough power to overcome any friction between the parts. An electromagnetic system would be easier to make and use, but would it be strong enough...
