Open season for Spammers on Zealot

All those people out there that want to advertise their little blue pills, and things to extend parts of your anatomy, and point you towards dubious websites. Believe me they will start to crawl out of the woodwork, and if you follow their links you will find (and get) lots of nasty things that...

Open season for Spammers on Zealot

Due to the mass resignation of Mods, caused by the ridiculous rule by Crowdgatherers that Moderators cannot moderate elsewhere - despite the fact that they are unpaid and give their time freely for the love of the hobby - Open season has been declared for spammers, scammers and con artists to...

    What a MESS

I stuck my head in again, after the separate thread I started earlier and noticed the request to say what "specifically" I didn't like. Okay, I'll try to explain - The Gauge was like the "girl next door" Pleasant, friendly, fairly attractive (though not the worlds greatest beauty), nice to chat...

    Sorry!

....but I don't like the new format one bit - I doubt I shall be around here much any more. There may well have been good reasons for changing it - but it ain't my cuppa tea, I'm afraid. Shortliner(Jack)away up here in the Highlands

    Hand uncoupling

One quick tip - coat the pointy end of the skewer with ACC (LET IT DRY!!!) or rubber cement, then stick it between the couplers - it gives it "tooth" and helps with the twisty action Shortliner(Jack)away up here in the Highlands

Need some Newbie help w/ Xtrkcad

Shift / left click on the track and it will move the connection point to the other end - this applies to turnouts too - rightclick/hold/move mouse turns the track piece (through 360 degrees if you move it far enough) - return or space fixes the track in position. Starting small

See if you can get hold of an article called "Shift Time" by R Thomas Cole, that appeared in a way-back model railroader - Shift time - Don't be a slave to the 24 hour clock <A class=normal href="http://index.mrmag.com/tm.exe?opt=I&MAG=MR&MO=4&YR=1983&output=3&sort=A">Model Railroader, April...

    My Manual Turn-out Controls

Cycle wheel spokes (with screw-on nipples) for operating rods. Take a wooden bead, drill VERY CAREFULLY deep enough to take the head of the nipple, and then epoxy the nipple into the bead - leave to harden and screw the nipple onto the spoke. BTW cycle spokes are HARD - don't try to cut them...
