Differences between Am. Locomotive, Baldwin, and Schenectady 2-8-0 prototypes?

I've been seriously looking at buying the Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0 in order to model the D&RGW during the 1920s-40s. But, the Bachmann is a 1918 vintage Baldwin. The D&RGW didn't buy any Baldwins after 1908, according to a steam engine roster. This brings up the first question....(I've just...

Comments on the MDC 2-8-0 or Model Power 2-8-2 for Colorado RRs?

Just a quick question.....for those of you who have cautioned me about the Bachmann 2-8-0, do those comments apply to the Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0, as well? According to the NTrak steam book, these are supposed to be quite good. Just curious.... Thanks, Ed

Returning to the hobby - What about Nn3?

Thanks for the information, Gary! I've checked the Nn3.org website, and am in the process of ordering the books that you have mentioned from NTrak. There is apparently a mailing list for Nn3, but it seems to be pretty quiet at this time of year. I'll keep looking around. In this area...

Returning to the hobby - What about Nn3?

I'm returning to the hobby after a VERY long absence. Originally, I had dabbled in HOn3, but never had sufficient space for much of anything other than dioramas. N Scale makes a lot of sense for many reasons, especially space-efficiency and operating realism. As my user name indicates, I have...
