    1950's era team track structures?

What sort of structures can you find in a 1950's era team track? I currently have a freight house, and I'll be working on a yard office soon. Can those 2 structures that I mentioned be found on a team track? What other structures can I add?

    Can't beat that price

What a wonderful RDC you got there. :) As for me, I have the old Athearn RDCs still working(2xRDC-1s, 1xRDC-3). Thanks to this forum, I've been given the idea of installing fly wheels on them, and they did make a difference. :) I've been dreaming of upgrading to those P1Ks, perhaps 2xRDC-2s and...

How to strip paint from an Athearn wide vision caboose?

I've not found any 90% isopropyl alcohol here in Metro Manila. But I've successfully found denatured alcohol at hardware shops. Will denatured alcohol do as well as 90% isopropyl alcohol?

    Ship in a layout itch...

Thanks, everyone. :) Ronson2k3: Thank you for the suggestion. Yes, the Digital Navy Fletcher appears to be my best choice. I think it will be released smaller than HO, but since it is in a high resolution, I might get away with blowing it up. ;) DN also has a lovely ferry boat for free that's...

    Ship in a layout itch...

Oppsss, I'm sorry about my bad English. What I meant was that the era of my HO model railroad is the 1950's. It's a fictional sub-urban layout that features New England like structures. I know it's not believable, but I'd like some deep coastal water with a Fletcher class destroyer (one that...

    Ship in a layout itch...

I'm thinking of making a paper Fletcher class destroyer model in my HO layout. Perhaps there is one I can find in the internet that can be scaled to HO well? Btw, I'm modelling in the 1950's, so I think it might be interesting since it was still in commission then (though I think it would have...

Until when did the EMD FTs remained visible?

That's a magnificent triplet of FTs! :) I will love those to pull streamlined passenger cars. It makes me remember the train scene in the movie "Flag of Our Fathers." You mentioned the running gears are Athearn. Does that mean Bachmann FT shells are compatible with Athearn power units?

Is it possible to electrically isolate Bachmann ez tracks?

Thanks, everyone. I liked the "Atlas plastic joiners replacement" approach. I've been using Atlas track for quick some time, and I would like to tryout those Bachmann tracks.

How to strip paint from an Athearn wide vision caboose?

Thanks for all the replies. :) I liked the isopropyl alcohol approach most. In fact, I thought of this: Tamiya acrylic thinner + 70% isopropyl alcohol Acrylic paint/thinner is water based, thus I think the 70% isopropyl alcohol will mix well. I tried to look for 90% isopropyl alcohol here in...

Is it possible to electrically isolate Bachmann ez tracks?

I'd like to know if there is a way (preferrably cheap) to electrically isolate Bachmann ez tracks. My purpose is to make blocks out of them. It appears to me that ez track is designed for DCC. But I prefer to stay with DC.

    Chalk for weathering?

I'd like to know what colors of chalk I could use to weather engines and freight cars. I think this will be the easiest option for me since there are a lot of architecture and arts supplies here in my vicinity. Please help me out. :)

Will an Athearn UP wide vision caboose look realistic with a UP GP35?

Will an Athearn UP wide vision caboose look realistic with a UP GP35? I have a spare Athearn wide vision caboose at my hand, and it would look pretty if it was trailing some freight cars and an engine. :) Also, will an Athearn SF cupola caboose mix well with a SF GP35?

    Fm h-16-44?

I'd like to know how the FM H-16-44 was used in the 1950's. I really don't understand what a road switcher does. Can I use it in the mainline as a freight engine and with a caboose?

Until when did the EMD FTs remained visible?

Thank you very much for the great news. :) I guess I can go with my plan. Btw, FTs were freight engines, right? Or were there some used as streamlined passenger engines?

Until when did the EMD FTs remained visible?

Until when did the EMD FTs were still visible? I'm planning to add that engine made by Bachmann to my 1950's era layout that currently sport F7As and some RDCs. Actually, I'm just looking for an inexpensive engine I could couple with a Santa Fe cupola caboose. Perhaps there are other engines...
