    Inadequate obituary in MR

Nice to see so much appreciation for the old timers, and how they created an element in which the hobby could develop and grow. As has been said here, all too often, there is scorn and derision for the old timers and their methods. This is frequent at the Atlas forum, where I no longer visit...

    Inadequate obituary in MR

My October MR has arrived. I believe the VERY brief obituary for the late, great John Armstrong, is totally inadequate for a man of his stature in our hobby. Were Al Kalmbach and Linn Westcott around, this insult to a prolific MR author, and true legend would not have been permitted. MR...

Zellers`s first Monday of the Month

What are the odds there will even BE a Zellers in 10 years time, let alone in 33 years ?  regards Mike

    Reverse loop

Tony: Although I will stay with my own "stop in the reverse block" method, partly due to my hand-thrown Peco turnouts, ( and partly due to my track plan and control locations ), your method and schematic look very good. Well done! :thumb: I'll bet your brother in Toronto couldn't have...

    New holiday: Locomotive Day

Based on serious commercials seen up here, especially during the NFL football season, I believe it's " THE BUD LIGHT INSTITUTE " who is spearheading changes to 'special days', and actually prepares appropriate greeting cards for these occasions. Their website expands on this philosophy.:D...

Discrimination at Superbowl, or Money Makes You Above The LAW?

 They were TOO, Jon.........you are getting mighty hard to please.... ;) ;) regards, Mike I just wished I hadn't missed out on the Janet Thread...I wanted to assure everyone the whole thing WAS railroad related....I believe she was only doing a pantomime...

    Reverse loop

If DC layout operators were willing to just provide means/ need for their train to just STOP in the ''reversing section", the control, and therefore the wiring, becomes very very simple. No changes to cabs, no doubled-up reversing switches, nothing....just one only DPDT switch that routes...

    0-6-0T & dockside?

Another option for North American switchers, is to have an "idler" car attached, which could be equipped with pickup wipers. "Idler" cars were used to keep the heavy locomotive off spindly structures, ( like coalyard trestles and such ), or carfloat aprons. A decent candidate for an idler...

    America vs sweden :P

We do see his ads! On CKVR Barrie TV.... That's how I know. He was more freaky than usual when he got "sewage-flooded" during that World Youth conference. No time to build an ark out of those furnishings either.:( regards, Mike

    America vs sweden :P

You're the winner, Bill... but I knew someone would grab my use of "Idaho" instead of "Iowa" even faster than mixing up Sweden & Switzerland. Go figure !.... As for 'nothing' happens in Idaho...POTATOES happen !:D Mike

    America vs sweden :P

Folks....in reality, if no one ever attacked Sweden for unleashing Abba on the world....IKEA likely isn't enough reason either. Rather than IKEA, you Toronto-area folks will no doubt be more likely to try something more unique and exclusive .......from "IDOMO"....if only to check out that...

    New LHS???

If you can't easily get up to the Orangeville area, have you checked out the website of Hockley Valley RR lately ? www.hvrr.ca I know they do mailorder. They have always been H0 and G since founded, and there was an ownership change in 2002, and again in 2003. I understand they were...
