How would one go about cutting off details like that? Something I've noticed is that a lot of these models don't have the wheel spacing correct. I have a great blueprint of this engine that I will have to try to attach a picture of later. 30" front wheels and 51" drivers......

How would one shorten the BAchmann 10 wheeler? What about taking a Bachmann 2-6-0 and cutting off one of the domes? Or are there lots of other details that don't match up that I am missing?

So I know a set of tracks goes through town, but how does one go about finding the nearest train yard?

So how can the size number be translated to radius? Everyone is always saying that the smallest radius track a big-boy will go through is something like 18"....so what does that translate to in # turnout? etc. Thanks for the info.

Well don't get me wrong....I'd build a kit any day over a RTR model...but I am not into kit bashing and coming up with something that will work. I'd rather have a box full of a few hundred parts...but have all of the parts IN THAT BOX to start with. I love building the kits...plus I think it is...
