    How old are you? Revisited

Aye. Well, truck's ride so rough it would never stay on the track, much less in the seat. Yea, I think once I'm in my own truck, I'll take some thing's along to work on during my 34 hour log book reset. I tried doing it once while getting loaded at a shipper and the truck bounced...

    whats in that box?

Trucklover, who is the builder of that UP gondola I see? Not because of it having UP on it but because of the type of car it is. I would love to find me a whole set of these in lease name's as well as KCS and the smooth rib side ones with RailGon on them for a prototype train I would like to...

    Ok lets try this again

Sounds like you made a good sacrifice and got the best of both worlds! :thumb: However I wasn't so lucky, so lucky me, I still have me and my train's and making the move into my new career of truck driving. I think I might purchase some N scale stuff and build me a small little switching layout...

    How old are you? Revisited

Well, I've been REALLY busy lately but I'm fixing to have to drop and put everything on hold, so no trains for good long while. I got excepted to Prime Inc so I'm goin' truck drivin'. Should be done with training and back home around September, maybe sooner. I'm gonna try and buy a laptop so I...

    Running trains versus scenery

I agree. You can't have one without the other. I try to get every detail I possibly can into my train's, track work, and scenery. They don't call us "rivit counter's" for nothing. From Proto87 hand laid track with tie plate's and all and Sergent coupler's to the air line's on a truck and the air...

Where are the Great Young Model Railroaders?

I can relate to that. I'm fixing to bump 23 next month and trying to work on a new career. My current 12 year career is burning me up and doesn't pay all to well so I can't really afford it. Don't have a girlfriend anymore and living back with my parent's for a little bit trying to take up truck...

Signature info... does it interest you?

Yea, I'm bad about reading them. You never know when you need a good laugh because I have seen some, not on the forum but a trucker's forum that had me down for the count. Plus the nature of someone's signature can give you an idea of what kind of person they are.

    How old are you? Revisited

*chuckles* Wow, I didn't know that many of you guy's were that young. Yall took me by surprise. I thought TruckLover had to be in his late 20's early 30's just judging by his layout lol. I'm an 85'er myself. Somehow I may still be young but man am I really starting to feel old. I guess that's...

    Size Creep

Well, if I do get back into it and make a scale swap then I'll skip over 1:29 from 1:87 straight to 1:8. I've been doing a lot of research and although locomotive's and rolling stock are expensive track really isn't that much more expensive in 1:8 than it is in 1:29. An AristoCraft #8 switch...

    Size Creep

"It's about the fun, not the money." I highly agree but the sad truth is without money there is no fun. :( I started looking into larger scales a few year's ago and there's several reason's why I was wanting to convert over to 1:29 (garden scale) Train handling physic's have more of a...

    trains in movies

Has anyone mentioned "Broken Arrow"? I noticed a movie "mistake" with that train scene when they uncoupled the car's. Look closely!

    yard equipment

To me it look's like an old Kansas City Southern Gon that was painted red with the "stop sign" herold and marking's that I believe were in yellow but I don't see a single trace of any of the reporting marks but the faded pink look's to be what used to be red long ago. As for the gon sitting on...

    Pink or blue foam, Where?

You may want to check with the Cali state law's on weather they allow this stuff in your area and may be a reason to why you can't find it. However I would check with your local plexiglass dealer, they normally carry it but if not I'm sure they either know someone who does or they can order it...

    trains in movies

This thread bring's up a question on a specific movie. I saw it only one time when I was younger on HBO I believe one night at my grandmother's house. I can't remember the guy that was in it but he's an old man gray hair etc wear's glass' and has played in a couple of these Medicare commercial's...
