    Atlas Decoder Equipped locos available??

I'm an Espee modeler and would liketo acquire a couple of Atlas Trainmasters and a VO 1000 with DCC in either tiger stripe or Black Widow. Need to know if these locos are available from any dealers yet in n scale? I ordered both from a dealer and he said they weren't "available" yet. Hope he...

    Idea

It's so much fun to go to the lumber place and try to select straight, not too wet, unwarped lumber. Usually at least two or three others are sorting thru the pile at the same time --- hazard of getting poked in the eye or getting popped in the head like in the stooges movies is real. Get the...

    DCC in LL SD7

Thanks for the info, folks. Unfortunately I'd screw up fastening two barbed wires together in an open field. Hence my chances of doing a DCC hookup are less than promising. I'll just look around and try to find another installer who can do the job.

    DCC in LL SD7

I have been advised by the man who is doing my DCC installs that he cannot make satisfactory installation in Lifelike SD7s because of their plastic frames. Anyone have any experience with these SD7s?

    Laying track

Something I have found, over many years to be very reliable, (recently successfully used on foam) uses exterior latex house paint with flextrack. The method holds well but may be pried loose with good results--better than glue. (ALWAYS WASH RAILS and TURNOUTS WITH 409 or SIMILAR, DRYING...

Model Railroading's Future is Almost Here!

Now you’ve got me thinking again which is always a painful process. How is this for a subject. . . Railroading's Future is Almost Past! Shucks, for several years they’ve been pushing around ideas like the dirigible and similar devices to do away with railroads as we know them. Someday in...

    How do pushers work?

Hi Ralph. One of my treasured memories is, as a twelve year old, being allowed to sit in the cab of an older (AC-4) S.P. cab-forward. I observed the practice of the "art" of train teamwork by the man at the throttle. We were hooked onto the rear of a ninety car freight, with nothing behind us...

    Super elevation

A solution I have used successfully where I used cork roadbed was to loosen the cork by running a broad (putty) knife under the cork. If you are lucky, the cork will come up reasonably well in the area you want to raise. I then used (in my case 16 ga) wire which I glued about 1/8 inch inside...

    Weathering Bridges.... Advice needed

Troy, You may find it helpful to first wash down both the rails and ties with 409 or just plain old dish soap. to remove any oil residue from the manufacturing process. Then allow to dry thoroughly. I use exterior flat vinyl paint, both on the rails and ties. However, I mix small amounts...

    Layout Comments please

Thanks Tyson. Gawd, it is sure terrible being so computer iggernent. Now it says the file is too big. I drew it with Paint then changed it to a .jpg with another program (VuePrint). Now I'll try a .gif. If that doesn't work, I'll just throw this machine away or something else equally stupid...
