    Nifty attic Find

I think i have a very similar loco to that one, or atleast it looks like that. Mines a Tyco model i beleive, and i have the original set to go with it, with all rolling stock and track in original boxes  ! It needs the wheels cleaned and a tune up which i hope i will get around to doing...

    original muscle cars

Hey everyone, i am a muscle car enthusiast as well! I dunno if this counts as a muscle car, but about a year and a half ago my dad and i decided to buy an old truck. I always liked the body style of Uncle Jesse's pickup from the Dukes of Hazzard, so we looked for a body style similar to that...

    Standard or narrow gauge

Thanks for the input everyone! I think i will go with either HOn3 or standard HO because of the limited space i am working with and the fact that the track plan i have is based on HO. I also have a limited amount of time and money that i can spend on the project. At any rate, this project is...

    Standard or narrow gauge

As some of you may know, i am planning on building a small logging line based switching layout. What i am trying to decide is whether to use narrow gauge track or standard gauge. I figured i'd ask the seasoned loggers to see what you think. Thanks in advance!

    Free Layout

I was talking to an old friend of mine the other day, then the topic if duscussion turned to trains. I soon found out that my friend had a 4X8 layout sitting in his garage along with a couple boxes of rolling stock, locos, building etc. He said he had a desire to learn how to build scenery...

    Smaller switching layout

Thanks for all the help everyone! I've looked through both sites, and considered the timesaver, and i think i have pretty much decided on the trakc plan below. I have always liked/been intruiged by logging short lines and thought that this mini layout would be a good way to get some experience...

    Smaller switching layout

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I would like to use HO scale because I have enough roling stock and locomotives to run a layout already.

    Smaller switching layout

I have a currently unused desk in my bedroom with a tabletop that measures 54"x23". I was thinking that I could build a small switching layout to make a better use of the desk. I dont have all the time in the world, nor do i have a lot of money at my disposal so i do not want a massive track...

Most Challenging Aspect of the Hobby

I just thought it might be interesting to see what everyone finds as the most challenging aspect of the hobby we love; and if anyone has any tips to help out. For me personally, electronics and scenery are the two most challenging aspects of the hobby. What about you?

    Long absence, but progress.

I found a Zephyr system on www.internettrains.com for $169.99. Not much cheaper then your lhs when you add in shipping so the choice is up to you. There may be another place online to get one cheaper, and i dont know anything about refurbished units, so some addition reseach may be in order...
