    Heoolo from Canada!

Where abouts on the pacific coast? I used to live in Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Mission, travelled up the Fraser Canyon every day from abbotsford to cache creek (Savona) as a swamper in a big rig. Really miss all the railfanning I did out there.

    Heoolo from Canada!

Welcome to The Gauge. I'm a CN fan too, well that along with CP, VIA, and just about anything else Canadian. I'm a little far south from where you are , in London but still an Ontarian nonetheless.

    Plaster Scenery Tip

I use a different method. I go down to the nearest art supply store and buy a block of watercolor paint...take it home and grind it into powder...then add it to the plaster as you need to...economical and easy. Ed Burchell

    My Final Trackplan.....

I don't know, I think the Wholelottabenchwork & Notalotabedroom Railroad or the W & N RR for short seems to sum it up nicelysign1

    Bronx Union Golden spike

Not only would a runaround help you switch the boiler house track, but the spurs above and below it could also have the option to have industries on them too, increasing your switching opportunities. Just an idea.

    Bronx Union Golden spike

It's a very compact switching layout that will bring you hours of enjoyment. The only thing I noticed is you have all double ended spurs, but no runaround track. If you added a crossover just before the storage silos then your industrial switching will flow alot better.

    Staging Yard

A runaround at the end of a staging yard is an awesome idea...just make sure the trailing end of it is long enough to allow the full consists of locos you run(ie: enough room for 3 diesels or 2 diesels, or whatever)...If those ended without the runaround, your train would enter staging and you'd...

    Layout Progress Update 09/24/07

Very nice Val. Good work. Lots of switching potential, and all those crossovers definetly captures the competition between the biggest railroads in Canada. Well done. Hope to see many more photos of your progress. Ed Burchell Canadian Eastern Railway

    Canadian Eastern Layout Plan

Here's the trackplan for the Canadian Eastern, as I decide the industries, I will add them to the plan so that you can see my progress. The single track leading off of the left of the layout is the CP interchange and the two leading off the far right side are CN's interchange tracks. The two...

VIA Rail reveals new passenger train

Quite sure that's downhill, although Ontario is pretty flat anyways. I did, however, see someone trying to steal it though, guess that engineer was caught up in the fair itself and left the loco running. Took security almost 15 seconds to catch the perpetrator and never even broke a sweat doing it.

VIA Rail reveals new passenger train

Exclusive only through the rights of my camera have these photos ever been revealed. Seems like VIA Rail has secretly been turning back time in it's Montreal offices, and for the first time publicly displaying it's newest passenger train. This new passenger train can hit speeds of just over 10...

    Return to N Scale

The Canadian Eastern is a fictional interchange shortline between the CN to the east and the CP to the west. The Western Valley RR's main head office had relocated to the east some time ago, but financial situations prevented the company from doing anything more then buying used locomotives to...

    Return to N Scale

Hey guys. It feels good to acually be back into the RR hobby again. It was getting rather frustrating not having the space for my layout with all the moving, and the lengthly home in an apartment. But now, the Canadian Eastern has a permanant home. I already have the track laid, backdrops up...
