DCC or DC to power trains

Yeah, it can deffornatly be done using the new, tiny, deocrders - However, the usual thing is to have a waggon behind it with the decorder in it. This is what i did, about 5years ago, when the smallest decorder was still too big. (Little ZTC one) The engine is the grafar 0-3-0 GWR pannier...

    any ZTC users about?

AH cool. - I only have two locos, and theres ussally only me driving, but DCC is still cool, the fact you can leave the loco 'parked' anywhere, and then go off and drive another loco stright off no need for isolating siddings etc. - Also, i have a revering loop and the ZTC system just sorted...

About to lay yard - what do you think?

Hi, As 60103 says, you can get full sized plans from Peco, there are about 20p and you get a double sided A3 sheet with all the points etc on. No stright track. However what i did was just stick the points that i have on the scanner bed and scan them into the PC, along with a load of stright...

DCC or DC to power trains

Im also using DCC for the trains, with std electic opertaion of points, using a 12v power pack and double-throw center-off switches (with built in return to center spring) Also: ZTC (UK) do a triple turnout decoder that will power electromagnitic "snap" motors, or (with a small addapter) the...

About to lay yard - what do you think?

Maybe i should have sayed earlyer. This is my first yard, the "main layout" was layed by me, but my uncal designed it, an built the base board (then his kids got fed up, and i didnt finish it) - I will be running the limited about of GWR steam stock (a tender loco, a push-pull tank, 2branch...

About to lay yard - what do you think?

So no one had a problem with using a double slip on the "mainline" in terms of reliablity issues? - I might to that then, which would increase then lenght of the yard some more. - And you, i cen get round to that end of the layout to operate the TTable :thumb: Daniel

About to lay yard - what do you think?

Also, i could move the whole right hand end in another 5" if i used a double slip for the takeoff on the left. - woudl this provide acceptable reliabiltiy? A photo of what i would like with the double slip (which would be mechanised) Danel
