Hi guys, i have a question and hope someone can help me out. I have a Kato F40PH which i will be adding a Digitrax decoder very soon. I was told by the seller that it has 6 functions and i need this decoder if i want to add flashing ditch lights. How can i do that? I am totally clueless about...

I started with HO starter set but eventually chose N scale because of space issue. N scale is slightly cheaper compared to HO scale, but not by too much. I live very far from USA so shipping for N scale is wayyyyyy cheaper compared to HO scale.

Yeah, the experience is so much different with a sound equipped loco on the layout.

If cost is an issue, MRC Prodigy Express should suit you. The are going for about $99 only Ebay. They can program decoders unlike Bachmann EZ Command. Might seem unnecessary now but it will come handy the moment you get your first decoder, hehe.

I went ahead and bought the Prodigy Express because it was 100 dollars less than PA2. The only drawback which i think will affect me is the read back CV function. I guess i have to get a notebook and write down every single changes i do to CV.

Yeah true, i remember even my cheapo Life0Like GP38 was able to pull around 10 cars up 2% gradient. What is 5 coaches with a Kato some more.

Thanks the tips. I guess i will get the inclines from WS first and do some testing. Since my intention is to use 19 inch curves and max of 5 coaches pulled by one loco. The incline will be straight till it reaches the end where it will take a 19 inch curve.
