Which HO Track do you use a majority of?

I use Peco Code 83 with Electrofrog turnouts. Used to use Code 100, then upgraded to the new Code 83.

What Scale and Gauge do you run

I've had a variety of gauges / scales over the years, start with OO then N, then I've dabbled with 009 and HOm whilst still keeping my N. I also had an outdoor line in the backyard - refered to as 16mm. I'm now on HO. My latest offering can be seen at www.guildford-surrey.fsnet.co.uk/bkw...

    Backdrop "holes"

Matt. Take a look at the following;- www.guildford-surrey.fsnet.co.uk/bkw/Page_5x.html I think I have had a certain amount of success in hiding the 'hole' one end though admittedly the other end (which you cannot see in the phots) is very obvious. Brian

    Ebayers can be pretty stupid

I generally know how much I can afford to go to. Often its slighly more than you would bid over in the US but, if its a dealer with a new item, after adding shipping costs and customs charges, its still cheaper than buying here in the UK. I picked up an Atlas Master series GP38 recently and...

    First layout plan

fecfan The hidden yard is a good idea that I like myself, being partially in the open it allows for extra switching. I've seen this done on several larger layouts. Keep us posted. Brian

    proto 2k reviews needed

I would generally avoid any six axle diesels on curves this tight, especially on an incline. I have a P2K E6A and that will negotiate 18" radius curves but the B unit will not! Generally P2K units are just fine and the GP7 / 9 / 30 are good for changing over to DCC (I have 15 of them on an...

    Duckunders

Twenty years!! Mine did not last the year out. Had a back problem and even though the layout was 48" high it still gave me too many problems. Having said that I have seen some with a lift out section but they still required getting underneath to connect the electrical supply. Brian

    European Members?

The only direct train from Prague to Munich is the overnight one. You can do it during the day with a change at Nuremburg but will have to pay a supplement. At least border crossings are easier these days (they used to be entertaining crossing from the old Soviet block). Enjoy your trip. Brian

    track plan need your help

One of the problems is that you will only have one place for operations, namely the yard. There are no passing sidings so you will only be able to run one train round and round. Could do with a siding half way round to allow for a meet. Brian

Tgif - Hooray. Stop And Say Hi.

Good afternoon all. Another wet and windy day. I think the goodies will be safe for another day and you'll all have to ash your own mugs up, Sherry and Henry don't want to venture outside, in case they get wet! Strange though as Henry will jump in a puddle when its dry! Off to a...

Clear Creek Mining Co. (N Scale)

I also use the backdrop idea, its very effective especially if your layout is quite high, mine is 4' of the ground. Brian General Manager of the Deadwood City Railroad.
