at a metre long or so, I don't disagree. It will be hugely impressive.

    Project Dropship 1:24 / Aliens

Oh I'm so glad I popped by to check on progress of this project. Well done Jan you've done yourself proud. I can't wait to see a paper build of it start now. I'm hoping that it will be possible to scale it down to a gaming scale - ie somewhere around 1:57 - I'm sure that will make building even...

    Project Dropship 1:24 / Aliens

I'm just hoping that Alien99 is still working on this project, because it's all kinds of awesome. I know from personal experience that family takes up an awful lot of time especially when kids are young, but we've heard nothing since October. His website was given an overhaul at Christmas by...

    Paper Millenium Falcon

Yeah, that model already won recognition as a model of merit. Be sure to look as his youtube videos of the model, particularly the last couple - you think this model is all kinds of awesome, and then realise that he lit it as well. It's an astonishing piece of work...

Paper model of 38'' Falcon Millennium scratch builded.

this is utterly awesome. What an achievement. BTW - if anyone hasn't gone through and watched ALL of the Youtube videos slideshows of this build, particularly the later ones, then you have no real appreciation of just how good this model is. Hat's off to you Berszu, I am truly in awe.

Congratulations. And as Rhaven said, you take all the time you need. Real life > papercraft. and we've waited 28 years for something like this - a little longer won't matter.

I agree Zathros - it also looks like there might be room for a 3rd dropship in the hanger. It would make sense to have a further deck of dropships on a floor above - a storage area if you will, prior to the ships being moved (lowered) into the (preparation) hanger to be readied for the drop -...

I can clearly see them on the plans you've posted, so I get why you've modelled them, but why on earth would there be a fuel point and control system on the unfoldable rocket pod thingies? If that's fuel for the engines, surely it massively over complicates design to have moving pipe work going...

    Project Dropship 1:24 / Aliens

either way it was too big, too heavy and too slow to rally drive round a movie set.

    Project Dropship 1:24 / Aliens

I read somewhere that it had a top speed of about 90mph, but its 0-25mph time was over 6 seconds, and of course even stripped down for the movie it still weighed in at something like 28 tonnes. It probably wasn't possible (or at least not safe) to have it charging through a movie set, certainly...

    Project Dropship 1:24 / Aliens

@Alien99 nice job putting that split in the turret, and I'm glad you've managed to recover from the crash and missing assets fairly quickly. Fingers crossed for no repeats on that one. I was searching around and found some pics with angles of the original sat rotting outside at Pinewood, some...

    Project Dropship 1:24 / Aliens

one thing I noticed that I think you might have missed ... (sorry if you were coming back to this part and would have done it, or if you'd already dismissed it as not important, but you do seem to be fairly OCD about details) ... On the gun turret, the thickest band, the bit directly below the...
