    Theme park trains

I've posted this someplace already, but here are the two types of park trains they run at Kiddieland in Melrose Park, IL: Videos I took as well if anyone's interested. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GcqpvPlSmzI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQXPviDzMEw

    Dan's Layout

I'm thinking about having my layout include a large amount of "street running", and I really like the look of your work. Awesome!

    Trucklover's Shelf Layout Thread

I have a question about your wiring plans(and I may have missed it re-reading the thread). I'm thinking about a shelf layout, but I'm wondering how to make the wiring accessible AND hidden?

This is the train that started it all for me, but what could it be?

Some other guy in the parking lot told me that they are running the steam engine on the weekends. I took those last pics on Sunday.

This is the train that started it all for me, but what could it be?

Well it's been almost a year and there's still no progress made on the basement, but I've started collecting HO equipment for this project.(and running it around on the floor ) I also went ahead and took my OWN pictures at Kiddieland. To my pleasant surprise, they were also running their...

E-Z Track Turnout question - What is that little piece for?

Still don't have a place for a real layout and want to extend my E-Z track loop, but I'm confused about the pieces that come with the turnouts. What is the tiny, straight section used for? Thanks!

This is the train that started it all for me, but what could it be?

I don't know anything about brand quality, but it seems that Stewart makes an F3 that looks pretty similar.(i.e. dual headlights) Bowser As far as permission goes, I have permission to put this up in the basement once we design the room layouts and put up drywall. i.e. not for months at the...

This is the train that started it all for me, but what could it be?

My only experience has been with HO, but that was 20 years ago. Am I correct in thinking that anything larger would require ridiculously large curves to handle passenger cars?

This is the train that started it all for me, but what could it be?

People from Chicagoland might be familiar with this, but the ONE thing that originally sparked my interest in trains was the "ride" at Kiddieland in Melrose Park, IL. This following links are to a page(not mine) that has several photos of it: Eddie's Rail Fan Page: Evening departure for the...

Thanks for the welcome! I haven't worked through all of the scale options yet, but I suspect the "prototype" I want to emulate will exclude certain things. I think I'll go start that thread in "General Talk.

Hi, my name's Jim and I've been lurking around for the past few days. I'm thinking about getting back into the hobby, and this seems like a great place to learn and share. To make a long story short, my Dad & I had a simple HO layout when I was younger (mid 80's) but all of the pieces were...
