Looks like it's been a little while ago since the manufacture address of EMD is still LaGrange. I believe all their work is in London, ON now. By the shape i'd guess they're SD80s or 90s

I have an auto reverser from Tony's and it didn't really matter which set of isolated rail joints the loco passed over, the train still kept going the same direction. This is with DCC of course. I'm not exactly sure why an auto reverser wouldn't "re-reverse" as you put it. I've always thought...

I only liked about half the designs that they did. I was dissapointed in the paint scheme of the SP unit. I picked 3. I wish they would come out with it in HO though the Tower 55 engines are too $$$$$!

I also have the Digitrax Zephyr along with a UR91 and a DT400R. Also my latest addition was the DS64 for turnout control

Although I love having scenery to run my trains through; my focus would be on running trains/operations. Scenery is the necessary evil. I go for realism but I don't overdo it because that detracts from running trains. No superdetailing here.

Well yes, I was generalizing it for simplicity. There are always differences when it comes to the area you are at. I consider the bypass tracks the mainline because in certain cases they are labeled as such. M1, M2, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and so on.

Basically yes. An interlocking tower is designed to control movement on the mainline. So the only switches it would control at a yard would be the ones allowing the train onto the mainline.
