Do you display your unused trains?

i was wondering what everyone did with all thier trains that they are not currently using on a layout? do you have them in boxes stored away? on the wall in display cases? just curious as to what everyone else is doing. if you have them on display, any pics would be cool.

    My 3x9 HO layout

yeah, he just turned 4 and loves to sit and watch dad work on the train layout. he tries to help when he can, but it is still a little to delicate for him. he also has his own track on the floor with his thomas train on it. any hobby you can do with your kids is a great hobby!

    Lights for caboose, frieght cars?

yeah, i have noticed some people take this hobby a little more serious than i do..... but i know for a fact that my 2 year old son loves the lights on his grandpa's trains...... just thought i would put together some fun cars for him when he plays trains with daddy.

    Lights for caboose, frieght cars?

i have a lot of lionel stuff that has lights on the cars. mainly, lighted cabooses and also a flat car with a spotlight on it. does anyone make/sell cars like this in HO? or are there was to retrofit other cars to have lights? just always thought they were fun.......

    Camera woes

yeah, because digital files don't loose quality over time. and for most peoples needs, jpg's are just fine and take up much less space. the only reason to use tif's is if you are going to be doing a lot of post work to an image (meaning color correcting, editting, etc), or printing it in CMYK...

    having feelings about this hobby

yes conrailmike, that is another good point. i have over $100K in photo gear, so spending $100 bucks on a train doesn't seem like much! granted, one makes me money and one is just for fun, but all things need to be kept in perspective....

    having feelings about this hobby

i look at these hobbies as a way to keep sane. that is worth a lot of money. i run two businesses, have a house, wife, kids, employees, etc..... i need something to get away from all that and just have fun. but i also cycle through hobbies. when i was a kid i had trains with my dad (80's)...
