Love classic sci-fi models

Hello,
My name is Ken. I've been an avid builder of sci-fi models since the 70s when I was a teen. I've built the classic Aurora kits, Flying Sub, Spindrift, and the awesome 2001 kits. I've been building the reissued kits from Polar Lights and Moebius for the last few years an well as several resin versions. I especially love the Fantastic Voyage Proteus and the 2001 ships, the Discovery, the Moon Bus and the Aries 1b. I also enjoy scratch building features and lighting my kits. I'm very excited that others share my love of these classic ships and offer new versions of them in styrene, resin and paper versions. Thank you all for helping me relive my youth.

Welcome on board, Ken, from 1 2001 lover to another!

Pretty much all the ships from 2001 are available as paper models.
I am getting close to finishing my 4ft paper version of Discovery.

You are in the right place if you like Sci-Fi!

Again, welcome on board!!

Wow Ken, this is a great introduction! :)

Welcome to zealot. If you are into SciFi models, this is the right place to be! ;)

I'm a HUGE BSG, Buck and Star Wars fan. Just take a look around, pick some of the free models available on the net (Jleslie's site should be very informative for you) and, please, show us what you have done so far. I'm looking forward to seeing your work! :)

Have fun and enjoy! :)

I added a gallery of a build I am doing of the Discovery. It's still a work in progress as I am scratch building a detailed pod bay. Check it out, I'll post more picks as it completes. Started working on a paper Proteus from uhu 02, so I'm side tracked. : )

Everything is approved. It's just me, and I'm only human. I get to the stuff as fast as I can. I have to actually look at what I am approving, and such a list can take 45 minutes to go through. I charge $75 dollars an hour for my services. I don't get paid here. I think you all know that, but I also understand the excitement when a new member joins, and you see all this fantastic work. It's all good. It all works, eventually, more often sooner than not. Not sure what browser you use, but you may need to clean out your cache. I recommend CCleaner by Piriform. It's free, and I have used it for 8 years.

Their Defrag tool is one of the best, it's called "Degraggler, and you can defrag designated folders, instead of having to do the whole drive. Saves on hard disc wear'n tear. I highly recommend it.

You're certainly in the right place! Since joining this site I found and seen models of stuff I have seen in years. Welcome to Zealot Ken!

That discovery you are building is awesome and you could post a build thread here if you wished. It floored the Hell out of me! :)
