Add a removable cover to the bay! :) So you can use the station in another diorama when Starfleet is in charge again! ;)

I like how you are adding depth to the model as a whole with raising and recessing the texture (even at that scale).
You are doing a GREAT JOB on this project!!!

Thanks guys  - the bit of extra work is well worth it.

I'm now onto the inner ring, starting with the top:-

Although there are wee differences between Ninjatoes' design and the studio model I'm able to remain quite faithful to the original DS9 by being pedantic with my layers. OCD? Me?!? Nah... ;).
I joined the layers to the ring then cut the parts for the outer rim. This took around two hours as I'm actually using the tabs provided for a change:-

I am the same way about adding detail this way. It is the easiest way to do such and the outcome is well worth the effort.
Check out this thread: Detailed Thunder Fighter Project. I used the same technique to get the effects.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

I have never seen one of these made out of paper. Superb. Your sense of scale and attention to details is admirable, and enviable too. :)

@spaceagent-9 It's an easy enough build, just a wee bit monotonous when you're cutting the same piece six times ;)

@Rhaven Blaack Thanks Rhaven . I might even get it finished tomorrow :).

@coffeeramblings Thank-you very much :D. Aye, like I said to Jim, it is kinda monotonous at some bits - lol.

@Revell-Fan Aye, it's NJ's. His was the only one I had downloaded so I stuck with it :)

I've found some minor problems with alignment of parts up to now. The weapons sails posed a bigger problem though. The rim just wouldn't line up properly with the sides so I did the best I could and then trimmed the hell out of the overlaps. The access corridors were less problematic, but there was still a bit of an overlap; nothing a pair of scissors couldn't handle ;). Due to the extra layers I had to remove the tabs from the sails and make the slot a wee bit bigger to get it over the ring. With the sails and corridors attached we get this:-

The next stage was the upper portion of the central column, ie ops:-

followed by the promenade:-

which only leaves the reactor still to be built.

Holy, she's a faster builder than me and gets all the "Likes"! :p:D:p

Just kiddin', mate! :D:D:D You are doing an absolutely marvellous job. However, my last question still stands, did you re-scale NJ's version or did you print it "as is"? ;)

As for the alignment problems, I guess these were caused by the way the model was constructed (hand-drawings). It's good to know that you have mastered the issues. :) BTW, a few years ago I found a terrific DS9 on the SketchUp Warehouse site:
https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model.html?redirect=1&mid=10e3882c71567f28bdbd60b756975f5d

It is a great basis, highly detailed and superbly made for papercrafting. There are no intersections and all panels are raised, meaning that there are LOTS and LOTS of greeblies. The best thing is that if you get rid of the rims of the raised parts you see that the model is so very well cleaned up that the area which is covered by the raised panel has a hole in the exact shape of the greeblie. This can be used as a mark for aligning the panels on the final model:

I paused on this one because it is a hell of work to unfold so many parts and I had no full Pepakura license at the time when I started, so I was unable to save the current state of the unfold and had to print what I had done to a pdf and stay with it (this explains why the parts are so scattered all over the place, too ;) ). Maybe I will return to that project when I have more time. :)

P.S.: I think the reactor screams for a red LED..! ;)
