CHANGE IS IN THE WIND!!!
As we all know, this forum is experiencing quite a few problems and technical difficulties (i.e. photos not being seen, not able to attach photos to posts, not able to download models file (The DOWNLOAD Section was a "PLUG-IN" and V-bulletin can no longer support the "PLUG-IN") , and many more).
IT has been made aware of this MAJOR problem and is working on a solution for such. So that way we can enjoy all that this site was intended for.
Not only that but this forum will be migrated to a new platform very soon. The new platform is called Xenforo. Here are just a few of the improvements that you can look forward to seeing:

  • Easier to use
  • Huge Private Message Improvement
  • Saved Message Drafts
  • @Member Tagging
  • Native Mobile Theme: More Functional than Tapatalk
  • Voting up threads with Likes
  • Optional Facebook Login for Single Sign on Convenience
  • Tread Alerts and Notification
  • Better Search
  • Improved Download Section
The new "ZEALOT" forum will have a new look and feel.

Once the new forum goes live, the site staff and EnzoTen (with CG Admin) will be working on smoothing everything out and making certain that everything is working the way that it should (as well as making it more "USER FRIENDLY").
Now this may take awhile. So please be patient. We are doing all that we can to give you the BEST hobby forum on the net.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me (or Zathros) directly.

Thank you for your understanding and patience as we get this whole thing sorted out and fixed.

Update!

Good news! The IT will be starting the migration process on Monday (30-12-2013), starting with a test version first. This process should take about a week (if everything goes right).
The actual migration will take place either on the 5th or the 12th of January (depending on how things go).
*NOTE* These dates are projected dates, not concrete dates.

In the mean time, all of the problems that the forum is experiencing are still being working and will be fixed (so that nothing bad is carried over to the new platform).

Thank you one and all for your understanding and patience during these very trying times.

Hi Rhaven,
I just had a look at Xenforo themes on google images and they all look stunning. I'm really looking forward to the new look forum.
Especially, I really appreciate all the hard work that you and Zathros and others have put into the forum. I can only imagine how much work and time it takes.
Keep up the good work and thanks for such a great place to meet and discuss.

Hello all Zealotors!

I wanted to pop in and introduce myself and field any questions you might have about this migration.

I will be coordinating the upgrade and all the behind the scenes stuff. I have been working with Rhaven and zathros on and off over this past year discussing this Zealot, this project and understanding the needs of the community. They have been incredibly helpful in voicing the concerns of the community.

This will be the third migration from VB to Xenforo so luckily most of the mistakes have already been made- this should be pretty smooth sailing. Most of all the communities love the new software and im sure you will too.

One of the things i want to mention is how the upgrade will progress. What i have found i that its much easier to start very basic have and build upon a base. For example, we are going to start with the default theme with the Zealot logo at the top, let everyone get comfortable with the new software and start to make suggestions on themes and features. I find that this is best since it is such a huge improvement in even the basic features that they take care of many users requests. Similarly with the theme, i think its best if everyone gets the feel for the new software so that they can have a better idea of how the themes behave with the new forum software.

Even though we are starting with a basic install, right off the bat there will be the glorious new download section and all of the above mentioned features.

Any questions please ask away!

Hello, EnzoTen (= "ET" ?)!

I appreciate the efforts you and the others are making to renew the forum. I have one question to avoid any unpleasant interaction during the software move:

Will the forum go offline temporarily till the data transfer is complete or will the move happen on-the-fly similar to the introduction of the new skin lately?

Will we keep our domain (zealot.com)?

The site will be taken off line completely for a few hours. I cant give you a good estimate on how man hours because the last time i did was very wrong. The second time we did this was on a site 1/10th the size of the first one which took 8 hours. i estimated at a few hours but it ended up taking 10 hours. So i will play it safe and say it will take anywhere from 2-12 hours.

Yes Zealot.com will be kept and all content posts and links will remain the same.

Wow!

I really want to say thank you and let you all know how much this is appreciated. I'm new here but I'm a member of a lot of other hobby forums and I have to say that the support staff here is just about the best I've ever seen. Most are good; you guys are great.

Thank you and Happy New Year!

Best,

Ian

Unofficially, we should start seeing the changes on Jan. 20th. It is a ton of work to migrate all this data from one platform to another. There may be some casualties along the way, but the C.G. Admin who is working on it is "THE BEST"! I mean it too. He is committed to this forum, (as well as is CrowdGather, and it's owner, Sanjay) and that is great So look to around Jan. 20th, thereabouts, fingers crossed. The new forum layout is awesome! There will be those who are so used to this platform, but once you spend some time with the Xenforo platform, you will all see that the change was well worth it, and in fact, is necessary, to save the forum's data.

I miss not seeing the whole "gang" too. It's kind of driving me bonkers!:razz:hamr:ARSE::whip:

It's kinda scary to see so few new posts here and even no recent posts on the front page... I haven't googled anything on Xenforo yet in order to be surprised at how it will turn out. :)
