PROGRESS REPORT: Main Control Console

Here is the latest Update on this build.
I added three control panels to the Main Console as well as a few other minor changes.

Here is the front console.
As you can see, I added extra support around the extra consoles to add strength to the console as a whole (not only that, but It looks more like a true console and not just a flat piece of paper hanging there).

Here is the top of the console (I recessed the center part to make it look more canon).

The Front Main Console is now assembled.

I am going to now finish the two seat version now.
I will use UHU02's technique for the sliding canopy that he featured in his Viper build, for the two seat canopy.

Please stay tuned to your local Earth Directorate Broadcasting channels for further updates as they happen.
Thank you for watching.

This project really blows me away! You guys have done so much work on these mods that I think it is very unique in all scale modeling. Once again I got bitten by the Starfighter bug, and just finished another one, the standard two seater. I'll try to post some pics later today. Thanks for all of this and the inspiration as well!!

I have to get me some time to build that model with those modifications. It's beautiful! CONGRATULATIONS!
With how your build skills are improving, I think that you would do this model some serious justice.
Now, you have two main options.
Option #1, You can build one of them now with one of the current cockpit interiors, or you can wait until RF and I release the 2.0 cockpit interiors and build it then.
Either way you go, I am really looking forward to seeing how you will build it and what kind of detail you will add to it.
I wish you the best of luck with the build!!!

I am glad to hear that you were bitten by the Starfighter bug!!!
Without going into too much detail, there is more coming for this project as a whole. So keep watching for more.
By all means, please post photos of your build!!! I am GREATLY looking forward to seeing what all you have done with it!!!

This goes for everyone that reads this thread: When you are making any of the different Starfighters (Thunder Fighters), you are more then welcome to use this thread (or any of my other threads) as reference for your own builds.
Please post a build thread. I would GREATLY APPRECIATE seeing what all you do with adding extra greebles to this model.

Thank you everyone for the kind words of encouragement!!!
I GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!!!

Okay... I just squealed like a school girl and wet myself again. Your cockpit up grades look so flippin' cool Rhaven. I'm very excited to see what the future holds for these Thunderfighters.
I have to say a giant THANK YOU...when I say Giant... i mean about the size of Will Ferrell as Paul Bunyan in the SNL spoof commercial for feminine products....THAT GIANT of a thank you to Martin for designing the original Models in the first place, even standing alone as spectacular builds, without all these awesome modifications.

Really now McGee, you must learn to govern your passions. They will be your undoing.
OH FRAK!!! Wrong series wall1! I have that, when it happens.sign1

The Thunder Fighter is one of my TOP 10 Sci-Fi Fighters of all. So when I found out that Martin Sanger had created a paper model of it, I too (to some degree) had the same reaction as you just had. Then once I met Revell-Fan and started working with him on this project, I was even more ELATED!!! So being able to make ad-on kits for this (already WONDERFUL) model is a REAL JOY for me!!!
Not only that, but I get even more joy when someone (like yourself) appreciates such. I am looking forward to seeing your build of this plane!!!

Martin's TF really opened my eyes, it showed me what could be done in paper and made me develop paper models myself.

Beautiful build, R-B.
The detail you put into these models is exceptional.
As usual, you have set a very high standard for us to follow.
:thumb:

Thank you for the compliment Dan. I am glad that you like the work that I have done.
To be honest, I am not doing this to set any kind of standard. I am doing this to give everyone here the best kits (available) and the opportunity to build the best model that they can.
My build threads are not to intimidate anyone. They are meant to be a guide of possibility and to show what can be done. Not only that, but also to inspire others to try something new and to improve their own skills. I truly hope that they have done just that!

I have a still as yet unbuilt model kit of the Thunderdfighter from back in the old timey days. The cockpit is pretty INNACurate abd spartan. Besides building up the paper models of this kit, I would love to be able to size the cockpit upgrades to scale, print them on nice matt photo paper and build up a really nice cockpit, all detailed out to the nth degree with the work done here, and install it, so It's a mixed media kit.
Partly because I too love the sweet bejeebuz out of the Thunderfighter, but also because I'm still one of the loves to build anything out of anything kinda guys.
If I was really good at sculpting and carving, I would carve different sci fi ships out of different beautiful really rich grained woods. when I say different, I mean each ship would be a composite of different woods for different components. That would be incredible looking.
NOT PAINTED......NOOOOOOO PAINT.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen,

It has been a long time since there has been an update to this thread (NO IT IS NOT DEAD).
Revell-Fan has finished revising and cleaning up the two seat cockpit interior for the Thunder Fighter (and is currently working on the QUAD).
I am now testing the parts and fitting of the two seat cockpit interior. Here are the photos for your viewing pleasure.

Here is the parts sheet for the two seat cockpit interior

Starting with the tub. The tub had to be redesigned in order for the figurines to fit inside properly.
