I've done a couple of papercraft models in the past, mostly from the canon site for Xmas or for my daughter.

Decided I needed a new hobby and started looking at papercraft further then thought about combining it with one of my passions, sci fi.

I'd really love to build the false maria from my fav film, Metropolis and have my long term sights set on a BSG fleet...

Dunno how I'm going to contribute enough to the forums to be allowed access to the downloads section though as I'm a virtual newb....

Rio de Janeiro - BRAZIL !!!
Evening!!

(...)

Dunno how I'm going to contribute enough to the forums to be allowed access to the downloads section though as I'm a virtual newb....

I know: get involved, participate! Make a search on the build threads of the models you like (recent ones, remember: no necroposting), and make your comments. Make compliments, ask questions, present your doubts.
you can also post pics of your models, making threads of your own. If you have the pics of your builds, post them, we all like that "seeing is believing" saying. And can even post videos of your builds, if you want.
If you have discovered some trick, tip or tool, you can always share your knowledge. Zealot actually has a section for that. Or you can ask for details in the builds that are already there.
If it's an old thread, you can always send a P.M. (private message) to whoever started it. Won't count as a post, but sure won't count as necroposting (remember: no necroposting), either!
Make friends, visit their posts, post "welcome posts" (meaningful ones) in the new members' introduction threads, well, make them feel at home and part of this special family. You'll see that soon you'll have hundreds of posts, but the most important thing will be you becoming an active part of this forum/family.
Then, you'll see one thing I've learned and insist in telling everyone here: ZEALOT is special because WE (INCLUDING YOU) make it so.

WELCOME!

Hello and welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place for SCI-FI (and BSG).
We have MANY members here that are into SCI-FI and especially BSG (me included). So feel free to ask what ever questions you have. We will do what we can to help you (or at least point you in the right direction).
By the way, here is a site that hosts MANY BSG models: http://stevespaper.com/

As for participation (and contribution), I think that the two gentlemen before me covered all of the basics.
Just enjoy yourself and have fun.

If you have any photos of your old projects, please post them.

Once again, welcome aboard. I hope that you will enjoy yourself here and I look forward to seeing your work.

Who? Where? What? Did I hear "BSG fleet"? WEEEEEEEEEELLLLLL, I suppose you have found the right place to be!

Welcome at Z! We have MANY fleet ship and props available and some more are in the making (e. g. an accurate Viper Mk. I; I'm also considering to make a 1/2 studio-scale TOS Battlestar soon). Just look around, use the search function and have fun and enjoy! :thumb:
