Brilliant! I've known of the Viper; the other planes look so cute, too.

They're really cute, but... I think it would be a bit hard to reproduce all of the curves in paper without a necessary simplification. I'm not saying it's impossible, just hard, and it would be a lot easier to simplify it.
That would depend on how hard to build you want the model to be. Once again: they're really nice and cute. Nice pics!

Those *are* cute! Sort of partial to the Corsair and SR-71. Reminds mw of those SD paper models. Can't remember what the SD stands for, but they're also know as *deformed" paper models if that helps.

They look really nice... I'm thinking of building a few for my kid; just gonna need to reinforce it, in order to stand a very energetic 4 y.o. boy... sign1

Goodduck, there is a webpage for a guy who has done an amazing job of custom fabricating s really big library of egg planes. While they are not for sale (unless youre incredibly persuasive and can charm him into casting them in saleable resin kits......please do try) they are really amazing snd very cool. Some on his site are commercially available buildups, but most are his custom work. He features things like an X-1 an X-15, an egg plane millenium falcon, X- Wing, his redo of that viper and a lot of other great looking work. I cant remember if he has any heavy lifters or transports but i will find the link and send it to you if you havent seen it. I will post it here.

I would love to have a Egg Plane Boeing C-17 Globemaster, and C-130 too.

My father retired from Boeing, he worked on 747. In the '70s the company distributed 747 egg planes to the employees, my mom still has two of 'em. As I recall they are the number 1 livery. I'll try to get picture next time I'm over.

You know, I used to hate these planes, but now, I love'em. I don't even know when the changed happened, but they are beyond neat.

McGee, you scare the sh*t out of me with that avatar!!:p

HAHAHAHAHA. Isnt that avatar the complete WORST. I dont even know how I found it. I was looking for pics to use as my Facebook profile pic awhile back, and I think I typed in something like hilarious ghastly faces or nightmarish hilarious faces or something and this one popped up.
Your response is very similar to what I get when i change my FB pic to that. I get a smattering of friends who promptly request that i please take that down right away because that cant look at it...and a selection of people who love the crap out of it.....needless to say......it stays as my FB pic for a looooong time. hahah
My other favorite is not so ghastly but still very humorous.

Thanks, McGee. I love the X-1, the sub is Q, the UH-1 is cool too. But the A-10 is butt ugly!

I agree with you on that A-10. That's interesting that the A-10 was the one that I liked the least, and you as well it seems. I think it's the way the commercial jet engines and the whole tail is represented. It just looks off. I think that area could have been done better...but that's coming from someone who doesn't have strong total scratch build skills, so shut my mouth.I guess ugly is ugly in every eye huh...if its truly ugly enough. I agree with you on the X-1 as well.
what did you think of the X-15?
Im glad you enjoyed the site.

I can definitely relate to what you're saying. While I have always liked the egg planes, I can say that there are things in modelling, like certain genre's or even things in life in general, that at one time I truly despised and couldn't even understand why people dig that certain thing, or like it, but now I think is pretty cool or even endearing or fascinating.
Im not sure why that happens.
As a kid I couldn't even stand to be in my grandmother's house , or even GO TO her house if I thought she might be making sauerkraut/sausages.
She made it from scratch and I couldn't handle or appreciate it..even the smell.
One cold wind driven late fall day in downtown Seattle, decades later, while headed to the public market, I had the stupid and unnatural (to me) urge and hankerin' for a big ol' Polish sausage and heap of sauerkraut with deli mustard and onions..
To this day, I have NOOO idea where the sudden coin flip came from for no reason, but now I love it.
However......I did NOT look like this before sauerkraut and sausages.
