@Silveroxide: The way you mounted the exhausts is a GREAT idea.
I makes total sense.
The engine section (as a whole) looks FAN(FRAKKING)TASTIC!!! Then again I would not expect anything less from you.

@AgO2: Those engines look bloody brilliant!!!!!

You are right, I like the contrasting gunmetal finish to the aft end too.
And a good idea on strengthening the jointing faces.:thumb:

At first you said you were following OUR builds for ideas, I think the coin has now flipped.....!

Thanks for the comments guys. After I attached the Rear exhaust section, An idea popped up, but I had already glued the parts. Since the exhaust fits snug on the mounting ring, I could have made the other exhaust versions, with the colored exhaust templates and switch them as the mood fits. Exchangeable jet nozzles is an option. Glad that you all enjoyed my build but I still depend on those who are ahead. From those who are already skinning their Vipers, I learn of the tight or hidden problems that may arise. The landing gear will be interesting since I have another idea over the prescribed instructions. They will be the same parts but made differently so that the pads lay flat on the deck and not turned up at a different angle. Enjoy and see you all next posting and keep building up the Viper squadrons.:thumb:

Deep inside........

A bit off topic, but ..........

As Master UHU seems to be on an 'interior trip' at the moment...Maybe, just maybe ..........

If he wanted to do another Viper with interior, he could always give this one a go.

Although, this one is (more then likely) not as challenging as the MK-II.

But then again there is always this one (if he wanted to stay with in the new BSG).

Mmmm... The Mk I doesnt seem to have much in it, in comparison to the Mk II...........

But, lets put it this way: Whatever Master UHU decides, it will certainly be a masterpiece!!!! :thumb:

Well, since there are some concept ideas, here is one from us NASCAR fans. What would Danica do?

Probably the same as Starbuck, crash it.:crash:

IMO THIS would be THE ultimate challenge:

Nevertheless there are still other cool subjects like these:

There is small error in the landing gear struts. The long one is for the front landing skid and there is a short one for the rear gear. I will post soon, as I have to re-do the gear details.:crash:

OOPS! But that should be an easy fix. Thanks for pointing it out. I noticed a missing texture at the front of the Apollo cockpit skin, too.

I still have to change the hole position on the nose skin but I chose to continue with the other parts to give silver some pics.

The bottom skin between the wings is a very easy assembly: Four parts only, and they come in a very good size. As you can see in the pics I have pre-shaped the parts BEFORE cutting out the rectangular openings for the landing gear and the slit. So I made sure that the part is curved evenly. If I had made the cuts first there would have been the danger of getting an irregular shape and / or making a dent in it.

I curved the covers of the landing gear compartments slightly.

The skin fits perfectly and lines up with the cockpit tub skin very well.

The turbine fans are assembled very easily, too. UHU was so kind and supplied the builder with a simplified flat version. Naturally, I took the challenge and went the full route.

Thank you!

I continue with the right engine cover. It is assembled according to the master's instructions.

Pre-shaping the intakes was a bit tricky since there are no printed markings for folding / bending. I used part 312 for reference.

When you attach the intake keep in mind that part 313 does not align with the upper edge of the intake; there is a small overlap. Use the small triangular shape on part 315 for alignment.

Part 318 has to be shortened.

The skin fits perfectly. I'll have to curve it a little more and proceed with the other one.

Howdy, guys

As I've written before, the work on the Viper is pretty slow, mainly for the fact that I'll be moving to my new house next Friday (September, 20th)  , However, I didn't want to stop at all, so it's a bit (better say a LOT) slow-paced, if this word exists.
I'm also working in my build of Kratos, as you all know, and didn't wish to stop it, either. And RF, I intend to resume our project soon enough.
But enough nagging! Here's the pic of my (very little, slow) progress. I did try some edge coloring, but it didn't work properly. Since "today is almost tomorrow" here, I'll look into it tomorrow. Anyway, the model, however incipient my build is, is amazing. Another masterpiece from UHU02! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Dear Rogerio, don't worry about "the other thing" . Just take your time and make sure that everything is packed safely in a labeled box so that nothing gets lost or damaged (especially the Kratos and Viper parts) and that nothing gets wet during transport (it could be raining).

Well then, I have assembled the left engine cover. This one went togetehr very fast mainly because I was familiar with the placement and shaping of the parts. Since the foldings came out a bit cleaner I give you another series of build pics and close-ups.

I'm gonna get there, just a lot slower... BTW, I'd like to show my (little) progress. I've started working on the cockpit. Wonderful model, I try not to mess things up...

@Rogério: You build is coming along nicely. Take your time, this is not a race. At the rate I am going, you will probably overtake me soon........

@R-F: Your skinning is looking fantastic!!! A Viper is being born!!!!
I am following your photos carefully and taking your advise for when I skin up mine! (the Viper that is, not a joint .....sign1)
