You know? Even having done paper modelling myself, even after seeing this particular step-by-step (meaning, i have seen how the magician does his tricks and done some myself), it still blows my mind how awesome and not-like-paper it looks

Thanks for your comments Jhrazob, I have a tendency to treat paper like sheet styrene and build most of my models this way. Added to this, I also like to paint my models by hand, which is why the texture seems to change and give it that "not-like-paper" look. I am almost finished and like the ALIENS APC, it is looking good.

So here is, another update on the Baneblade. This time, it is on the idler/drive wheels. The next posting will be on the track links. Until then, enjoy and see you all next posting.:thumb:

Continuing with the build and the track links session. The only thing I forgot to photo, was the individual carving of the track pads and the placement of each.

Once again, you amaze us with the level of detail and, of course, a cool, thoroughly explained "how-to". GREAT!
Thanks, man.

Thanks for the comment. The step by step is for the benefit of all, so that they can make better models. Hopefully, my thread will help others make even better models than mine, and make them think outside of the box. Here is the update on the making of the Las-Cannon turrets that sit atop the sponsons. The build for the Turret will continue next posting. Enjoy and see you all net post.:thumb:

Just for the heck of it, here is a teaser of where the Baneblade is at at the moment. There are still a few more details to do but that is for later on in the build.

Sorry guys, I got rid of my young ones a long time ago, They send me my grandsons to visit and stay with me on occasions and I have to compete for my chocolates, and what is worse, they have taken a liking to my diet sodas.

Well anyhows, here are more updates on the build. One big discrepancy is that the secondary deck for the turret base sits too high and had to be trimmed down to fit even with the track skirt. By making this adjustment, the frontal glacis also had to be trimmed accordingly. The best way to make sure that the deck fits properly, is to break it up into two sections. Enjoy and see you all next posting.

Hey! Those civilians are not cleared to get that close to a Baneblade!

Seriously, it blows my mind when you guys make stuff like this, it makes my best efforts look like 5-minute hakos in comparison...

Those are not civilians, they are part of the crew in civilian clothes. We all have different ways in which to express our skills. There are some one day projects out there that are fantastic in their simplicity. In my case, I suffer from overdoing and keeping it simple. Thanks for looking in and stick around, the end is almost here.

The construction of the turret is next. The plans have two options for the turret, I opted for the one with the cargo bustle. The photos without comments are not of the finished model, there are a few more details to add. Enjoy and see you all soon with more updates.

Impossible! That's no paper! No way!

If I didn't know the quality of your work, Silveroxide, I would doubt it was made of paper. Your threads are fabulous AND generous, for you teach us all of your techniques and tricks of trade.

Thanks for your comment and for looking in. As I have mentioned in the past, I used to scratch build with sheet styrene and I just took that knowledge into the paper medium. When I laminate, I treat the paper, like id it was styrene. Sometimes I even surprise myself with my work and the Baneblade is one of those surprise where If it was not for me building it, I would probably made the same comment "No way that's paper"

Here are some more almost finished photos of the Baneblade. Enjoy and see you all next posting.:thumb:
