Hello everyone,

This is a new account for me as I'm not sure what happened to my old account. I've been papercrafting for about five years now, and I used to frequent this site a lot because uhu02 has some pretty awesome models. I can proudly say that I am a published papercrafter. My work is in the "Build Your Own Paper Robots" book, though I only contributed two models, and I would hardly consider myself a very good designer (see Claudio Dias' models which are much better). I simply don't have much time for my own design work. I like to build other people's models. For instance, I'm working on a 1:1 scale T-800 Terminator endoskeleton. I was a submariner in the Navy that served on the Ohio class of submarines. I built the 688 Los Angeles class submarine on this site, but I'm still hoping someone will design an Ohio 730 class submarine (the 726-729 hulls are now SSGNs and not really Ohio class anymore). There are a wealth of free and awesome papercrafts out there, and the only model I have ever paid for is Digital Navy's USS Arizona which I'm planning on building in 1:100 scale. I'm an avid Transformers fan, and for the last 6 years, I've built my son a Transformers type costume out of cardboard, hot glue, velcro, spray paint, and zip-ties. I guess this is technically papercraft, since cardboard is simply a variant of paper. I have pictures if anyone would like. I designed and built a Soundwave transformer model for the PaperRobots site, but it never got truly published on his website, so I offered it out for free to anyone who wanted it. I've been working on a transformable Rumble G-1 cassette for some time, but haven't quite finished it. I've honestly only finished a few papercraft models, but have plenty in progress (a bad habit, I know). Anyway, I'm trying to get back my status here so that I can have access (I used to have it) to UHU02's downloads section. Any questions, please drop me a line!

I am really happy you took my advice and posted. Knowing that you are a returning member makes it even better!! Please, if you have specific questions, ask me, or Rhaaven, but check out the Rules and Policies, as they have changed, especially in regards to UHU and access to his website. Welcome back!! :)

Ok, I found myself!

So, it appears I used to have an account with the user name "kurt_young." I originally joined this site 2-16-2010. I found myself by looking for an old post of mine in which I was asking if anyone had modeled the Chevy Impala from the Supernatural TV show. Not sure if you can merge my accounts. I will post the work I've done when I get a chance. Is there anyplace in particular I should be posting them? I understand the new rules in order to get access to the downloads section, no worries.

Since this is a normal car, you can start a thread here: http://www.zealot.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=395

I look forward to seeing your work.

Where should I post my son's Halloween Transformer costume pictures? Do you have like a cosplay thread?

Unfortunately, there is no COSPLAY category. you can post the thread in the SCI-FI category.

I am looking forward to seeing it.

Cos-Play is a genre that has had many people join, make one post, then disappear. If enough people did this, and continued to do so regularly, then a category would be warranted. We had a group here, but they were trying to use the site as if it was "Facebook", and that did not work at all. Lots of blather, not models, just make up. :)

Nice to see a fellow sailor here! Although I'm no submariner, and we've served in different countries, I believe us sailors share what we can call a brotherhood at the sea.
Welcome back to this brotherhood of the paper!

Thanks for the welcome

Thank you, yes I am a sailor, though I won't set sail on a submarine again. I'm now on what you could say is the permanent shore duty rotation, which is fine by me. I'm what you call an "Engineering Duty Officer."
