Kev, I have an idea. When I designed Crichton I modeled and unfolded him in 1:1 scale and then re-scaled the parts to 1:6 scale. I suggest you do the same, so we'll really have something to look forward to.

If you tackle a life-size Twiki I'll tackle a 1:1 scale Dr Theopolis. Is that a deal?

I will do a scaled version no problemo, there will be some people wondering why a smaller version, and thinking hes already small enough haha!!!:thumb:

I will shake hands to that definatley , i will let you handle the doctor , while i take care of the little guy.:thumb:

i like the other buck rodgers robot, did he ever have a name, i cant remember for the life of me , it looks like a great, and nice clean model too, now that would definatley make a good desk paperweight if i could make a ruggedised version, that would be great:thumb:

A paperweight? Interesting. I thought he looked more like a vacuum cleaner!

Well, if you skip the wheels and make the undercarriage completely flat it might work.

BTW, the robot is called Crichton. He was created by Twiki and Dr Goodfellow in the 2nd season of the show. Here is his first entrance:

Plans will be released as soon as the silver version and the telescoping neck are complete.

I just thought it would do as it has a large base ideal for holding paper down:thumb:

Why would you ever want to put a piece of paper under a paperweight, when you could cut it up and glue it into something??

Hi, Clif!

As far as I know the computer is one of the most prominent props in movie and television history. It is seen in "Buck Rogers" (Searcher bridge equipment), "Star Trek II" (computer in the background on Regula station: take a look at the scene in which Carol Marcus and her son are being informed that Adm. Kirk is taking command of the Genesis project), "Knight Rider" (computer on the FLAG semi - with wooden finish!) and several more. There are two of them with slightly different colour displays. Apparently it was created by the company "Modern Props" which offers a large variety of different props to movie studios for rent.

The most prominent prop by them is probably the "neon skimmer prop", a device consisting of four commercial skimmers and several red-blinking neon tubes between them. It can be seen in: "Buck Rogers", "Star Trek II", "Star Trek: TNG", "Star Trek: Voyager", "Knight Rider", "V", "Airplane 2", "The A-Team", to name just a few. This is also on my todo list.

Both are COOL ideas for models. I make a lot of dioramas for action figures and they would come in handy as background models and props. I remember the skimmer from Star Trek the Next Generation. I'm looking at a 8 inch tall Buck Rogers to buy that I'd love to build a diorama for.
