VERY NICE!!!!!

One day, I will get down to super detailing a model. And for sure, you will be a big contributor of my knowledge in this craft.
Do you work for Haynes, by chance? sign1
You should, with your very comprehensive build guides !!!:thumb:

No, but now that you mentioned it, my layouts seem to resemble their tutorials in a way. Never thought about it. My threads are here for the forums benefit. Enjoy and hope to see your version soon, hopefully better than mine.

I salute you, Sir!

Thanks for looking in Rogerio, more to come this way.

And now, on with some more updates, the next posting will cover the front drivers door, but until then, here are some panelings.

With each and every build that you do, I learn something new.

More updates and the one that some of you have been wondering about. For the door, I used 120lb cardstoc for the flat part of the hinge. I was going to make them out of brass but decided to try it out of paper. Be sure to cut the slots out first, before cutting the side panel out. It will give you some surface to work with and make sure that you do not cut all the way trough to the edge.

Using a needle for the hinge is a brilliant idea! May I "borrow" it on occasion? :)

I like how you did the hinge. It looks perfect.

Thanks, if I had made it out of brass, it would have looked better and stronger, but I am pleased as to how it came out.

Your attention to perfect detail is mind-boggling, Ag2O.

Beautiful work as always!! :thumb:

When I used to make my plastic models, I always liked to detail them a bit. My saying was " a model by itself, is just a model but add details or a diorama, and it tells a story."

Using a needle for the hinge is a brilliant idea! May I "borrow" it on occasion? :)

Remember, the needle was to maintain the hinge location, but it also could be used as a long bolt like on a ships hatch cover.

Started the insides so that I can begin on a whole bunch of new ideas for the interior. That floor plate was designed after I started on the build. That is why I broke it down into three sections. Next build, if I get around to it, the floor grating would have been one of the first steps in the process and it would have been glued in its complete form to the floor schematic.:thumb:

Wonderful and incredible! Are you a big silver!
I would like to ask you a question, where purchases sheets of cardboard 2 mm?
Will you make a pdf with all the images and the guide attached?

I am not sure about the big silver, but my hair is white and I am old in age (oxidized) but not in spirit. sign1

A while back I had visions of grandeur and taking my thread (my super chimera) and turning it into a book like instruction manual, something like you mentioned. I got through about four pages and it is very time consuming, not to mention the editing and proofreading. My paint program which I use for the captions, does not have a spell and grammar checker. So no, I do not plan on making a zip file instruction on it. On that note, my Super Chimera showed up on a pirate site and the person who uploaded the plans, also took all of the instructions and made a file of it and attached it to the download. That means that a member of this site or the other one, borrowed my model. At least he did not make it a for pay model and kept it free which was my intention.

As for the paper or cardstock that I use, it is about the thickness of two 110lbs (US) paper weight. My former wife works at a certain factory and they tend to throw away cardstock used for the making of jewelry, and perfume boxes. It is velum quality but I also use poster board or manila folders which approximate the same thickness.

Speechless. Ecstatic. What else could I say? Only wait for more of this beautiful art!

Thanks for looking in Rogerio. Is zero dark thirty hours at the time of this posting and I cannot take a good quality photo of the stage where I am at now and I do not use use a flash because it glares the photo too much but I am done with the insides of the carrier and about to work on the top cover shortly with the overhead inside consoles. Then I will work on an idea for making that sliding side door. I have a bunch of other ideas to do on this model and the wheels are not even done yet. Stick around for more stuff to come.

Here is a small tutorial on the making of laminated pieces. It stands true for thin or thick pieces. It cuts down on making fiddly little tabs and gives you a solid piece to work with. Here I made some first aid kit boxes but with the same technique, I also made some ammo boxes. With this method I made the crossbeams and the structures for the seats. The only thing holding me back is more imagination. The last photos are of some c-ration boxes the Pulse rifle with the ammo can sides. These pieces are laminated to the required thickness. The c-ration boxes can be laminated and the printed part wrapped around it but it folds like the real box. The parts are set for landscape and are about 1/35 scale. if they are oriented to portrait size, they will be about 1/48th scale. They can be used for other dioramas or details other than the ALIENS venue. Enjoy and see you all next posting.:thumb:

I assume, that you mean that bug saliva from those endangered species that just want to get along.

The APC is coming along nicely and the details are making it look better with every added detail. This is the beginning of the cabin detail. The first thing in the agenda is the weapons locker. It will take a couple of postings to detail the progress, but first I have to finish the editing.

More on the console, The work continues with the console, but it cannot be installed permanently until the front left jump seat is made and attached. If the console is put in first, then the jump seat will have a hard time being installed. Excuse the misspelling on some of the captions. Enjoy and see you all next posting.:thumb:

Gee, man, that's... that's... magical!

That is a really GREAT looking control console!!!
This project is really coming to life!!!

Thanks for the comments guys. As you can see, it is all scratch build and there is a lot of measurement, to insure that the interior stays to scale. More details to come.

These set of photos jump around a little. The sliding rod is for the commanders seat, which will slide in front of the console. The seat was also suppose to swivel but I forgot and made it fixed looking forward, but it still slides.

The weapons are okay but the new better versions were made after I loaded these version into the weapons locker.

The sliding side door is finished and it works, but that is still further up ahead. In the meantime, enjoy and see you all next posting with the building of the seats..:thumb:
