Maybe we could offer this title in the future (Zealot approved; instead of "Senior Member" or so).:rolleyes::mrgreen:

Cool idea!! (It would also make us unique, in our hierarchal statuses, to other paper modelling sites .......)

Yeah....... "Senior Member" .... Makes me feel old...........Well, I am, but that is not the point.....

Yes, I know what you mean...

If that proposal is rejected I still can make a paper wheel chair for us..!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Thanks!

I wish you the best of luck on the test. I too am keeping my fingers crossed for you.
Although, I have to say that I like DBK's Paper Modeling Professor explanation better.(I do believe that you already have that certificate as well with seeing the level of work that you produce now).

Once again, best of luck to you on your test.

RB

Thanks, my "Mentor". I'll try my best!:thumb::thumb:

All right, all right... while you guys are deciding and choosing titles, I still don't think I deserve the "Seniorship", although I gratefully accept it!

That is a good idea, but I think that the title of "Paper Modeling Professor" would be better suited to people like UHU02, Silveroxide, Zathros, Revell-fan, Imcold, dnalor, Ing. Spendlik, and quite a few others of the same caliber.
These people are the true "PAPER MODELING PROFESSORS"!:inw:

I digress. We need to stop derailing this thread get it back on track, and allow Rogerio to finish this model.

Totally agreed. Those guys are the Professors, the PhD's, Masters, Senseis, and whatever honorary, skill titles we can grant them won't be enough for their artistic talents.:inw:

I think we were just biding time while Rogerio finishes his studies!!

You couldn't be more accurate!:thumb::mrgreen: Although I have been posting frequently, trying to avoid studying:rolleyes:, I have to stop running from the books and start taking this seriously.
I'll try to schedule my exam to late June, but will try to do something till then, although I know that the test IS the priority.:curse:

Rogerio my friend that sounds so much like me... when I went for my Master certification as a plumber, I knew when the test date was and kept putting of studying the books until just 4 weeks before the test. then four weeks of getting home from work and then studying the books for 3 to 5 hours a night. Did I mention I was working a 40 hour plus a week schedule at the time too?
Anywho, I know you will do well if you can put the same drive into the test as you do your models.

Oh, boy, we sailors do know each other, don't we? Well, at least now I started to take the exam seriously, and studied a lot today! Nevertheless, I don't feel ready for it yet, but I'm taking a three-module course, and next week the last one will begin.
This last module will be the full preparation for the exam, and I'm really anxious about it! Man, I feel like when I went to do my exams to get in the Navy, back in 1983 (Gee, am I THAT OLD???)...
But thank you for the "driving" words, I think that with all of you wishing me the best, how can I let you down?
Now it's a matter of ZEALOT-ian honor!:thumb::cool:

Back on track

Hello, everybody!

Although I'm between houses, getting prepared to close the deal on the new house and move to it, I decided to resume my paper duties. What would be the sense in opening a thread like this and leaving it un-posted for such a long time?
Besides, everything went well on the exam, and I ran out of excuses. That's what happened. I thought I'd lost my touch, but seeing what I did on the Groizer X and the other project I've been working on, I think I can deal with it.
So, a more than deserved update: I believe the head is the hardest part of this model. There are so many small pieces... Anyway, I'm getting close to the end (of the head).
Left eyelid is ready, but I couldn't find the piece that contais the eye. As a result, Kratos looks like one of those horror movies in which dead people show up only with empty eye cavities (or holes, you choose).
Take a look at the pics. Building this without tabs is a real pain, but I won't quit!

Keep your head on... II

Howdy!

I'd like to show you a small progress on the head. As I've told you, the head is pretty hard for someone not so skilled like lil' old ME, but I persist.
Take a look at the pic, and you'll see both the head and the ears (still out of place:cry:).

I tend to work on my tutorials and fail to check in on what others are doing. Your thread is a case in point. This is my first look at your build and the head is coming out great. I do not do figurines per say due to their complexities and compounded curves. One area that still frustrates me in figure construction, are the fingers. Keep up the good work and good luck on your exam.

So you joined the navy in 1983! I joined the Army in 1968 and retired in 1988. And was active in a military advisor/contractor/instructor capacity until April of last year. Now I sit back, enjoy the grandkids, target shoot, and build models.

Thanks for you visit, Silveroxide. I'll always salute you with all my honor and pride, SIR! :thumb:  And I already passed that exam!
I can't say that figurins are my specialty, because this is the first one I build (if you don't count the Iron Man...), but I intend to do some others. But I'm just building, not designing...
I've been following the Viper thread, and I intend to join you guys soon.
GO FOR IT!!!
