With the USS Cairo released, it is time for the next Pook Turtle, the USS Carondelet. Progress will not be as it was with the USS Cairo. Just a few updates, then the release.

Working in the background this time, I have tackled the USS Carondelet, the second of the seven Pook Turtle sisters. She has come together nicely and should be ready for release in about a week to ten days.

Zathros, I hardly ever find a reason or want to comment on one of your Posts, but I do believe that this is Photo NH61568 of the USS Cairo in 1862, not a photo of the USS Carondelet. But I still enjoy looking at it.

Cheers,

:eek:ops:Oh so you are right. I knew they were in the same class and I just went by what the website said. They were different though. I found this picture. Please, do point my errors out. I am an avid follower of the Civil War and am intrigued by your work. The USS Carondelet looks far more "cleaner": in this picture. :)

I too am an avid follower of the ACW. Amid numerious relatives and in-laws, My GG Granfather and G Granfather fought in the war. My family was in Texas prior to the ACW (since 1824) and one GG Granfather fought at San Jacinto with Sam Houston. An equivilant Grandfater fought with Boone's rangers in the War of 1812 and came to Texas soon after. The rest of the family migrated to Texas from Mississippi and Georgia right after the ACW to start over. So the ACW had a big impact on my family.
