Still more photos of the Bird I believe that this modification of the thrusters is a bit more closer to the GW version.

You really are bringing this model to life with all of the detail that you are putting into it. It is simply MIND BLOWING!!!

Thanks for the comment Rhaven. I have already started on the Storm Talon conversion, Manned Walker, and I made the cockpit similar to the GW version as close as possible. At the moment, I am cutting up a space marine to pilot it and probably make it into a closed canopy version. So far the initial project is coming along real nice, but I won't post photos until the front and mid section are done. Then will come the fun part, Making the legs for the walker version. I have photos of the parts that I will need and will work from those. But in the meantime, I have one more batch of photos to do to finish with the storm Talon. Enjoy and see you all next postings.

I like the way the vector thruster are on a ball joint. When you say you can pose them I assume you pose them then glue them and they are not poseable anymore.
This being said I think the thruster connector should be shorter.
Similarly the connection of the main Jets to the body looks nicer but I think it would be even nicer if the part that connects to the body was a bit more recessed inside the body and the part that connects to the engine a bit more recessed in the engine so the engines would end up closer to the body.
In any case, this is really really nice. When I consider that I was happy with just finishing the model as designed for my first one then very happy with my blood raven because of the transparent canopy and the detailed nozzles, I see how much further I have to go.
In any case as previously mentioned I am already putting to practice the technics and mindset you show on this and other build threads in the building of my current project.

After I installed them, I noticed that too but I did not want to mar the model by ripping them out and starting over. The rotators could have gone in deeper but I kept them a little out to show off the detail. All of the techniques that I used here, are also viable with other builds too. I am glad that you like some of my techniques and they are there to help everyone to make better models. That sticky label technique has multiple uses too, such as placing decals and pin-ups on the models. I hand drew my strips and caution strips by hand but if you have a label program, you can make all kinds of symbols and designs on the labels and then you just have to cut them out and stick them on. This will also work with a business card program and printed on regular paper and put glue to the opposite side and stick them to the model as well.

Here are the final photos of the Storm Talon which will be spread out in various posts. Missiles, Bombs and Canopy Hinge.

The bombs really makes it look even more aggressive. About the missile colors, Newobmij noticed it after looking at the 360 spin of my version, it is him who forgot to recolor them. I do like the idea of several missile tips as the launchers are supposed to be able to launch at least 2 and optionally 3 kinds of missile (anti-personel and anti-tank).
Waiting for your walker impatiently, will the lower section of a sentinel work? Maybe slightly scaled up.

As always, you have done a PHENAMINAL job on this model. It is a BRILLIANTLY done piece of art.
KUDOS to you on another fine job well done.

That is really excellent and informative.

Thanks Zathros, This thread is for all modelers, to show that a good model can always be upgraded to look more real. All it takes, is imagination

Yes, the missiles were kind of not well balanced in the printout, but it is still a great model as is. One thing about the bombs, is that they are really not that hard to make (At least not for me) For the legs, I was going to use the defiler legs, but I do not like the way the join to the hip section. I will go with the Sentinel legs but upscaled a bit larger.

Thank you Rhaven, As mentioned above to Zathros, it is to help modelers to see what can be done with a great model.

YA done good! :)

Thank you Armorman, I wish I had the time to do at least half of the models designed by Eli, but ten comes along a great model that moves to the top of the list. There is another one that just came out but I will restrain myself from building that jet bike and continue with the other Storm Talon variations.

So here are the last photos of the Storm Talon and a few from the cockpit for the Manned Walker. The cockpit is almst the same as the Storm Talon but I did some modifications in the build process and the cockpit should be as close to the GW version as possible. The photos are out of sequence but the numbered ones, are for the manned walker. Enjoy and see you all next posting.

Re: Storm Manned Walker

So off I go again with another version of the Storm Talon. As you can see from the previous Storm Talon build, this cabin is different and is as close to the GW version this time. Because the legs are a bit tighter on the model, I did away with the center console. The Space marine is trimmed and cut to be able to fit inside the cockpit. The arms will be glued on later. See you all soon with more photos.

Should have made the pilot out of paper too ;)

Tirik does have a pilot from the Star Wars that could have been used and modified to be a Space Marine, The only problem that I have, is that the parts are really small for my thick fingers. and i have not been able to make one yet, but I have tried.

Well here are more updates on the cockpit/cabin for the Manned Walker. As you can see from the photos, I cut apart the cabin into sections and then put them back together around the front tub. From the reference photos, the pilots tub should have been recessed deeper but I kept it out a bit more than called for. While making this version, I looked at the parts and there is a possibility of making a two man cockpit, Apache style seating. Enjoy and see you all soon with more stuff and things.

Wow that is some awesome work! Great ideas that I hope to use, this is one of the reasons I really love this site, an amature such as myself can learn from the more expireanced builders. Thank you.

Thanks for the Space Marine pdf. It is the same format as the Star-wars figures mentioned earlier. I have a problem with parts that are that small. It is kind of hard to believe that there are some models that I cannot build, but figurines are one of them and at that 1/48 scale. it is difficult but I will attempt it again with some internal armature to hold it together so I do not crush the figure.

It is for you guys, that I do my tutorials, so that your modeling experience may be more enjoyable and continue to build more models. Do post your builds when you get a chance,

At the moment, the cabin is just about done and I will start either on the weapons arrays, or the legs. There are some parts I cannot attach to the main cabin until the body is attached to the legs, ie: antennas and sensor arrays but here are the next batch of photos on the Walker. The build is almost the same as in the Talon but with a few modifications here and there. Enjoy and see you all next posting.

Why of course such have a purpose, they make the otherwise simply cool look awesome !

In the world of sci-fi, there is never such a thing as too many greebles.

The build continues and the differences in the Talon and the Walker, will soon be evident. The lower leg connector, is coming out better than I expected. I am working on the second lower leg at the moment and it looks good so far. Sorry about no photos of the work at this time but it is coming. Here are some more photos of the build.
