I have started the BSG MedEvac Raptor from Revell-fan.
You can find this model (as well as the rest of the Raptors) in the download section.

The kit has 8 sheets of part and 10 sheets of instructions..

The center (horizontal) section of the main hatch is recessed 1.5mm.

The detailed main hatch is attached.

The petals of the wind screen dome are edge glued for a smoother finish (I know that I should have painted the edges first, but I did not think of it at the time).

I was hoping you were going to raise the panels and you did them exactly how I would have. They look great! :)

Actually, there are only a few raised panels in the standard kit.
I am building this straight as the kit is first. Once I get a feel for it, then I will rebuild it with more detail. This model (like most of Revell-fan's models) has room for added detail (which I will capitalize on).

I will (eventually) make all four variants of the Raptor (fully detailed of course).

Please stay tuned to your local Colonial Broadcasting channel for more updates.

Was there ever talk of an interior for this. I know of Silveroxide's one off beauty. :)

Thank you for the kind words of encouragement.

Zathros: Yes, Revell-fan and I are talking about an interior (that will be an add-on kit) but, there are a few other projects that Revell-fan needs to clear off his work bench first.

Big Z: Yep, it is true. Cockpit interior AND Assault Raptor are on our list. But we have to make something BIG first..!

Your build looks absolutely fantastic, RB!

And thank you very much for spotting a little mistake on parts 12 & 13.

Both parts feature glue tabs on the edges where they are supposed to meet. Just cut off the flaps on the neighbouring edges and assemble the parts as shown in the instructions. Well, it is always better to have more flaps than you need than to have flaps missing..!

That sounds awesome! I always though that ship would be an awesome craft to fly, and had incredible punch for a ship of it's size. :)

I built this model a while back. I did not have too much info on the interior at the time, but since the BSG stuff went to auction, a wealth of reference photos became available. good luck on the future attempt of super detailing. The canopy bump was a stumbling block but I got something close enough. There is some info out there on how to make canopys for planes, especially for the Super Tucano. That procedure can be of some help in building a molded canopy for it. I am still tied up with my house project and my Daughter has asked me to help with her house as well. Daddy cannot say no to his baby. I am retired fully and still working over eight hours a day without pay. I am getting to old for this but the grand-kids, dogs and two houses keep me busy. Enjoy and see you around the forums.

Update

Here is an update of my progress.
As Revell-fan had stated earlier, there are extra glue tabs on both parts 12 & 13 (top part of the wing) as well as where these parts meet the cabin.
THIS IS THE SAME WITH ALL OF THE RAPTORS!

IMAG0949.jpg

I removed the tabs that were on the wing and attached it to the cabin.
IMAG0950.jpg

Of course did the same with the other side.

Looks great so far... :thumb:
I have the plain raptor downloaded and I think it will be my next project.
I will use this thread as an assembly guide.
