Hello friends!

Some time ago I found the piromodels website:

http://piromodel.fc2web.com/

The artist who runs this site is very creative and has made some nice Star Wars character papercrafts from the animated Clone Wars mini series which was aired shortly before Episode III premiered. They are fairly easy and really look like the cartoon caracters. I like his Yoda and the Vader helmet most. Unfortunately, his / her site is in Japanese or Korean (???) which means that I'm unable to read the text. However, while wildly clicking through the site using the try and error method I found something even more impressive: The artist turned almost every Stormtrooper and Clone Trooper variant into Lego versions and built them - with paper! These little figures are sooo CUTE that it was only a matter of time for me to make one of them. Moreover, the modular structure challenged me to follow his example and to make a few new ones myself. And since I am the biggest BSG fan in my home town (if not in the district I'm living) I decided to make a Lego Cylon.

At first I wondered how you could be able to build these tiny figures at that small size. Then I noticed that they are not the same scale as the original Lego figures. They are a bit bigger which makes sense because I doubt that a 1:1 scale version could be assembled so easily (anyone accepting the challenge  ?!). Well then, I took Boba Fett and the Shock Trooper as a basis and adapted the parts for the Cylon body step by step.

Here is Boba, still one arm and a leg missing (I told him his new ride was too expensive  !).

Some parts have to be made especially for this new figure such as the head of the Cylon. This is the first version. I tried to make the shape as simple as possible, but then found that the shape was too simple.

Those are so freakin' cute!! The Cylon one rules!! I too am a BSG die hard fan, and would watch any series BSG., I liked Caprica, which many didn't but I did. Two cute CYlon Babes!

That site translates easily if you copy and paste the website address into "Google Translate", you then click on the Google Translate URL on the right, and the site appears in English. This guy has made a ton of stuff. GREAT FIND!!

Work is proceeding pretty fast with this feisty little creature. I borrowed the lower torso from the Piro Shock Trooper, recoloured and reshaped it a bit. The upper torso was taken from Piro's Boba. I remodeled the chest to make it look more Cylon. I noticed too late that I switched the chest and back side on the torso so that I had to make it again! wall1

And another new part: the backpack. I replicated all greeblies and diagrams on the switch console. Unfortunately they are so small that you can barely see them. Hardcore fans may argue that the back plate is too small, however, this is intentional. The fellow shall look cute even from behind  .

You my friend, are an absolute GENIUS!!!
This is turning out to be a really cool model.
One question though; how good will it be at warming up my "POP-TARTS"?sign1

All joking aside though; This is turning out to be a really GREAT little model.

I am driven; to understand the graduated range of values forming the standard system of assertaining the required, measurable, linear, parallel, quantifiable numbers, that are represented upon the planed two dimentional surface, ( this surface specifically invented, innovated and designed, for allowing repetetive linear, structural-integrity reducing actions, to be performed upon said surface, while the effects of the afore-mentioned actions are counteracted by the self-repairing nature of the structure of this surface,) that is shown????????

In other words: What are your cutting mat demarcations measured in? sign1

They are measured in cm.
