Prometheus "(SPOILER ALERT!!!)"

Hmmm, I've known a lot of scientists that don't act like scientists. Actually, most of the scientists I have known, I would not dare board a spaceship with to go into the unknown.

This is sounding better. Maybe there will be a longer DVD version That would be cool. I like the HumVee, it looks better than the last iterations of the vehicle. :)

It was very predictable plot, but I actually enjoyed it. Maybe because I decided beforehand that I'll be watching it as all Hollywood movies are made lately: Sit back and enjoy the show, no brain needed.
No Alien movie will ever have the impact that the original had, just like no Star Wars movie will ever have the impact of the original unaltered Episode IV.

The ship Prometheus and the ground vehicle did look really cool in 3D and I bet will look even better as papermodels!

As long as we don't return to the period of "No Sci-Fi" before Star Wars came out, I'll endure some filler. :)

I like Prometheus, quite a lot more and I think better made then anyone of the Alien series, actually. The original script ended very differently too. It ended with Vickers alive survived the crash and she actually is a robot, but then killed by Shaw. Movie ended with camera pan around to a 2nd moon zoom in to the surface to see the U shape spaceship from Alien, showing the pilot on the chair with a big hold on it's chest and finally we see the alien, the end. I wonder why Ridley Scott didn't go with the original script ending, it was good. ......well, maybe not with Shaw holding her hybrid baby in her arm, that's just a too weird for me.

I don't know if it was in the book or not. I was talking about the original script ending. It was so different and I left out a lot of stuff so I don't think I spoiled anything. Do go see it if anyone have not, see it in 3D.

I saw it again the weekend, and I enjoy it just as much the 1st time. The second time I was playing attention to all the background details, a lot I didn't notice before. I already ordered the art of book, I will go see it again and buy the bluray.

Oh I'm not worried about it. I like the special effect in the very least, and if you say you have enjoyed it, I'm, pretty sure I will! :)

I just saw and I won't drop any spoilers because I like to play "I know something you don't know". I will say that was about the stupidest bunch of space explorers I've ever seen. The hardware was nice, though. Some future models might include: The Prometheus, the excursion van, the dune buggy-like vehicles, the Bone Ship and that's just some of the bigger stuff.

Glad someone else was shocked at the utter incompetence of the "scientific" team? Sure, take you helmets off while in an unexplored alien structure, don't test for bio hazards, handle an alien corpse without respiratory protection, your android randomly open doors and says "oopps", play with unknown alien life forms, don't decon when returning to the ship, you may be infected by something but don't tell your teammates, two of your team wanders off and no one notices they didn't take a vehicle back to the ship, store your unidentified alien artifact in the freezer so anyone can open it up, examine an infected alien head in open air without a glove box, and on and on....

Did anyone else catch what Vickers said about flying half a billion miles from the nearest male? So they flew to a star system just beyond the orbit of Jupiter.
Bad science makes my head hurt.....

:thumb:YES! :thumb:
(YES concerning the hardware; haven't seen the film yet, so I can't say anything about it at the moment.)

Films in the Alien universe seem to make the usual underexplained Hollywood assumptions about faster than light travel and artificial gravity. Actually, the more I think about it, though, the premise of this film really took no more deep thought than that of the AVP movies. I'd even say those films kept the action level up a bit better, too.
