Hmmm... I'm reconsidering about the rifle.... As I said, a few other projects are still in the way. However, the longer I look at it the more I think that it might be done. So please stay tuned. And be patient!

Thanks guys, always happy to seed an interest in a new project.

I still seem to think there was a 'beefier' long-arm carried by one of the extras in the rescue in the ruins of (Old) Chicago, mind the scene was very dark and shadowy at best, add in how long ago I saw the pilot episode (shown as a motion picture in a theater).

One think pretty cool also in that sequence was the small APC support Col. Deering and her ground troops, uncertain what such was built up-upon but cool still for the times regardless.

Thanks for the links! BTW, designing Buck's Mk. I & II is officially finished. They will be available in the downloads section shortly (I hope!)
And Buck's Land Rovers are in the making.

EXTRA, extra, read all about it!!!

This blaster is now avaible in the download section!!!

Got the Buck and Hawk Blasters. These look quite a bit easier to assemble than the BSG Blaster. I'm glad they were released first. I'll build these to prepare and get up to speed for the eventual release of the BSG.
Thank-you, Revel
Thank-you, Rhaven.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I do have a question though (this might not be the thread for it) how do you feel about someone taking your design and converting it to plastic / bondo.

IF you are wanting to make the model more rigid with bondo or resin (or what ever other material), go for it.
There are many people that take paper models like this and use them as a base for such, because they are into sci-fi/fantasy conventions, or cos-play and they want a weapon (or armour) for their costumes that either is too expensive or just can not be found any other way.

Please post photos of your work. I would like to see what you come up with.

Me too! Go ahead, please! I'd love to see build pics! Especially when someone is planning to make something unique!

And RB: Thanks for approving the files! BTW, I have sent you the Colonial Blaster kit. It is ready for release (finally)!

Eastern Alliance Blaster

Thanks to Revell-fan, here is a recoloured version of the Buck Rogers Blaster that was used in the BSG (TOS) episode "Greetings from Earth" known as the Eastern Alliance blaster.

EasternAllianceBlaster.jpg

The Eastern Alliance version was a variant of the Buck gun. The Buck gun was first. Then the Galactica prop department was looking for a cheap way to introduce a new weapon for the new bad guys and chose to "borrow" Buck's. It is well-known that it was common to re-use Galactica props in Buck. "Greetings From Earth" is one of the few episodes in which Galactica recycled Buck EN MASSE.

This is the same kit, just recoloured for the Easter Alliance in BSG.

Here is a link to the download: http://www.zealot.com/forum/downloads.php?do=file&id=1455

ENJOY!!!

Exemplary Confidant
Hello All. Well, thanks to a long holiday and the complete DVD of Buck Rogers, I finally found the motivation to tackle this blaster. This build was the most challenging one for me to date. The multi-part handle was especially difficult for my less than dainty fingers, but I pulled it of without super gluing my fingers together.

Thanks to Revell Fan because this thing is awesome! I especially like a build that's all black because the old Marks-A-Lot marker covers a lot of sins.:thumb: I was good until the handle strip, which I couldn't get to line up from side to side. Had to cut a new part to join the top rear part, but it doesn't look too bad. I used chrome duct tape for the silver accents. Gives it a nice "Buck" look.

Now, when I'm attacked by bikini-clad space babes with horn hats I'll be able to fight back...or not:twisted:

Is anyone up to creating the rifle version? (Just curious. It's beyond my meager skills to design)
