I can't wait to build one of these puppies. It's looking really frakking good!

I just came across a site that has some great pics of one of the original props. And you can see how pretty it isn't. (I'd still take it, though!) And even though this isn't a hero model, the hero models didn't look as... heroic as you'd think. http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=40401 Good reference, though. Good reference on how not to build, mold and cast a prop....

On a different topic, there are also some great shots of a Centurion helmet: http://www.modelermagic.com/?p=39886 I notice that it doesn't have the holes drilled in the forehead for the actor/stuntman to see through. Wonder if they just stuck this on the head of some poor sap and told him not to move.

 Hello, everyone!

Welcome to my latest project: a 1:1 scale recreation of the Colonial Warrior Blaster from the Classic Battlestar Galactica.
What the heck was wrong with me when I made the first post to this thread??? I didn't mean "recreation", I meant "replica"! And now it's too late for me to edit the post, and the wrong word stays on the front page! wall1
Could anybody (ekuth, Zathros?) fix that, please???

I know this site. It is the best ref site since starshipbuilder.com has vanished. I have found tons of interesting material there, e. g. a faithful and fully rigged replica of a Taun Taun stop motion puppet and several absolutely stunning Galactica Lego builds (you have to see them!).

I see Revel has a Buck Rogers blaster coming out soon, as well. Another of my favorites.
While on the topic of sci-fi weapons, might I suggest the hand-gun from the original "V" mini-series. I remember Robert England as the friendly alien, Willie.
I'm working on it!
Here is a first preview of the rough model.
