I have glued the top hull fairly easy.

Installed the nose-cone.
the gap at the underside will be fixed with some extra under hull.

i had to detach the rib behind the cockpit because the cockpit is a little to large. (strange).
the rib will be installed after installing the cockpit.

And now without the rubber bands :)
i need them to hold the ship together when the glue is still wet.

That's great looking. Looks like you have a nice dedicated work area. That's a problem for me. I had built a room but my Mom is coming to stay with me for a while, and because of her age, we live the room open in case she decides she wants to stay. I don't want her to feel she would be inconveniencing anyone, as she wouldn't. Nice set up!. :)

:)
My luck is that i can build wat my work.
There i have a room what i can use it's perfect....my boss doesn't come there so it's my playland :)

At home i cut allmost everything in front of the Television..
instead of a different hobby-room.

and all the pieces go to my work and there i assamble the x wing/falcon..etc..

Dnalor, your Fiber Optic work is excellent. My Mercedes 450 SL has it's dashboard lit in the same manner, ( a real car, not a model). :)

WHAT..stealing ... :)
Well at this moment it doesn't work how i want.
I also put some light at the side panels..
but when i glued the fibers to the side routing them back to the led they melted in the glue.. :-(
Now i have to place tubes for routing the fibers to the back of the cockpit where i want to place my LEDS.

Damn, i hoped to be ready today with the cockpit ..
Now i have to wait untill monday for my tubes (they are on my work)

Try using UHU glue. It will not melt the fiberoptics when you glue them in place.

I didn't realize they melted like that. Does anyone have specific glues they are aware of that one should stay away from? :)

Most of the glues ( like tester's) for plastic models will "melt" the plastic to bind it together.
Super glue can do the same thing.

UHU glue (as far as I know). is the best glue for binding any kind of plastic to paper with out any problems.

You can also use sticky labels and wrap a small strip around the edge of the fiberoptic and glue it in place that way.

the only thing is that i hope the fibers don't break at the dashboard. i glued the fibers at that point to the paper..

you know...one big pile of glue and then i stick the fibers in the pre-made holes.

the behind the scene solution will be the tubes..
i have multiple sizes...and i think i can pull it off.

And when not than the cockpit will become without the lights :-(

When you cut a fiber optic, then splice it back together, there is a 20 decibel drop of light, One option could be, instead of running all those wires from one place, run very short runs and have the light right behind the dash. You could have the whole unit self contained with an LED as the light source, and small 1/8 inch longs fiber optics protruding into the dash, transmitting the light. :)

Hey are you a glasfiber engineer? 20dB loss :)
I only use SM fibers :-D
I wanted to make a "patch cabine" behind the seat for all the lights shows..
From the R2 unit and cockpit. ( to reduce all the leds)
Only the engines will/would have their own light sources.
