Buck Rogers Thunderfighter Red Strip

1st post on a build.

After an age recolouring with MS Paint, I'm nearly ready to start building.
Will still need a bit of 'tweaking' to be done for positioning of red strips on wings etc, but just about ready. The beauty of paper is you acn just print another one There must be a quicker way to do the re-colouring as had to some literally pixel by pixel to get the shading.

Anyway hardwork done and now for the fun

I use an old, OLD, copy of Photoshop. Some members here use GIMP which is free to download. I haven't taken the time to get used to GIMP due to the fact that you currently cannot print directly from it. One must same the work, then open it in another application (such as Paint, Photoshop, or PhotoViewer).

I look forward to seeing your build. BTW What scale are you building in?

Welcome to the forum.
I am looking forward to seeing your build.
Are you going to build any of the others as well?

Never really though about scale. I do like the idea of a bigger scale, but will probably build it as it comes. 1:1 would be marvelous! but the wife thinks I'm mad as it is and building a full size Thunderfighter out of paper in the garage may be a bit much.

ASC Mclaren.

Will be doing fullcockpit in standard Thunderfighter, when I build that. I had a few ideas, one of the kids though it was going to be a police car and I had a vague idea of putting in red and blue flashing leds in the vents behind the cockpit, but might be to advanced at this satge for me. The other though I had was the red dtrips look like racing strips, so might put black painted (inside) acetate, so effectively tinted windows. Could start a craze of 'Pimp my Thunderfighter'

Rhaven Black.

I would love to buildthem all, given enough time.

Does anyone know if there is a Draconian Marauder available, I've not seen one. It's nicely faceted, so should be relatively easy to make (Not that I have the talent or skill to do this) Or Scorpion fighter?

I am sorry to say, but I have not seen either the Draconian Marauder or the Scorpion fighter in paper.
I would love to though. I too think that they would make good models and would make a great addition to the collection as a whole.

Sense you are planning to build that cockpit interior in your TF, have you seen the tutorial that I did on the functioning canopies?
If not, here it is:

I look forward to seeing your work.

Slow progress, but getting there. Next time I post a build I'm going to cut everything out before hand, so it looks like I'm a fast builder. In reality I just have little free time. And i'm learning as I go

Anyway here we go 1st picture

Everything looks good so far.

It is better if you score and cut the pieces out as you need them, otherwise, you could lose a piece (or two).
Take your time with it. There is no need to rush through it. If you rush through the build, you end up making mistakes and making more work for your self and in the end, you will start to dislike the hobby as a whole.

Good luck with it.

Slow progress, I'm doing my best not to rush it. The wing/fin is loose just for red line positioning, and I discovered some of the other ones were out, so have been working on those again. I hate MS paint, but the results are okay in the end, given time and patience.

ALthough, your "RED" stripe looks a bit too "ORANGE" to me.
Good luck with it.
I am following this one closely.
