I have coated the model in several coats of masking tape then coated that in car wax hopefully this will act as a mold release.

She's starting to look fine. When I saw the first wavy pictures I didn't expect to see the hull in that shape.
However, and it's weird nobody has mentioned this before, I think you might have mis interpretid the plans regarding the beakhead. In ships of that period, the beakhead was portruding from the hull, and not part of the hull itself as seen on your model.

I have completed the mold unfortunately the mold release that I used instead of tape did not work and the plug had to be destroyed to get it out of the mold. I am now waiting for some better mold release.

pics. (Note: I have smothed the inside and filled the gaps since I took these pics)

Here is a link to the site I got the plans from.

Sovereign Of The Seas - Harold T. Bodkin

He gives the link right before our post. Did you see it? You don't have to resurrect a dead thread to get the information That's why these threads are here, but you have to read them to get the info you want. Those are for "lofting" the Hull. Figuring out the plank lines is another issue completely. :)

Not to put too fine a point on it but the title states that this is the Santa Maria which was my first impression anyway.

"Hey, that looks like the Santa Maria!" thinks Blackadder.

I go exploring for the first time and see what happens.

So I say to myself, " I'll just yank a picture of the book "The Sovereign of the Seas", they will look through the book, should I cut and paste all the drawings, will people actually go and find the drawings. Yes, surely they will!

"Hey, that looks like the Santa Maria!" thinks Blackadder."

That would probably be because it is the Santa Maria? It is the "Sovereign of the Seas' "Mini-Me". I wanted to show the link still worked, not do all the research. Let me find a wall, ah, this one will do............wall1
