My 1:18 Thunderfighter build

I have two black astro droids, I think, but I am making an R6 that I would like to debut in the TF socket.

I was always a fan of R5-D4 (sadly, I lost mine in a pine tree many moons ago). I think a black R5 unit would look cool.

Adding stiffeners to part 247. I added 3, I should have added more, including at the mountain fold and under the transition.

And more, I decided to print 52 & 53 multiple times and actually build the louvers on part 50. (Rhaven Blaack, your engines inspired this!):

I really like what you are doing to this plane. It looks GREAT.
I like the look of the floor of the CI tub.
You are doing an OUSTANDING job. Keep it up.
Soon you are going to wide up with one AMAZING TF.

On this scale, you can detail that whole section out. You can have that whole thing 3-D (if you do it right).
I am glad to see that you are letting your imagination flow with this project, and that my work has inspired you to do more.
WAY TO GO!!!

Back end of tf

Here is the back end of the TF that I did for my mother. You can use this as a guide for your detailing.

I'm thinking that the two circles at the bottom will be recessed tubes with a center post. The louvers at the top and bottom are challenging my mind.....

I am glad to hear that this is helping you. I am looking forward to seeing how this turns out.

You can do the same with the rest of the plane as well. Make some of the panels on the engine section raised as well.
Explore and have fun with it.

ASC, this is awesome. At this scale, if you had messed up anything, it would jump out, but the exact opposite is happening. I really look forward to see you complete this. You guys really give me much pleasure, it's modeling vicariously! I know I'm not the only one to feel that way. :)

Yeah!! As big as you can post them. I like to use these as screen backgrounds, in Windows 7 they always change so it's kind of cool to see these models.:thumb:

Soon, my friends, soon. This weekend was another "organize the garage" event. (Shhhh, don't tell my wife, but I would rather be working on my TF).

Is that not always the case, we would rather work on our WIP as opposed to doing any other kind of work?

No worries mate, your secrete is safe with us.

Just hope your wife is not a member of this forum; otherwise she could read your post...

Well, another weekend of garage work with no end in sight. I did manage to work on rescaling the landing gear file. I printed a set for the current build and the stealth TF. Each sheet is US letter.
